The Jamdani Shilpa Community is an association of the practitioners of the Traditional Art of Jamdani Weaving. It represents the weavers and their helpers of all the ateliers located at Rupganj, Sonargaon and Siddhirganj. We, the representatives of the Jamdani Shilpa Community, hereby give our consent wholeheartedly and unanimously on this day of 24 March 2012 to the nomination of the Traditional Art of Jamdani Weaving for a possible inscription in 2013 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity Our concurrence is based on our understanding that the proposed inscription will not only bring global recognition to our craftsmanship and creativity but will also strengthen our profession. We actively participated in the nomination process as well as in collaborating with the experts and researchers who so passionately and

intensely studied and documented all aspects of our craft and trade. It was a pleasure to

work with them.
