KIDS’ CAFE FREE Summer Lunch Program

Kids of all ages are invited to the YMCA summer Kids’ Cafe, where
they can socialize with friends, eat a FREE nutritious meal and
enjoy crafts and games. In-person dining this year!

FULL-DAY CAMPS
FRIENDSHIP FUN:
MAY 24-28
This week is all about teamwork, making friends, and good sportsmanship. We will get to know our fellow campers through welcome activities, a scavenger hunt, a giant knot, and bridge building. Campers will write letters in small groups to pen pals at another camp. We will also create an autograph book to have as a souvenir of our summer camp experience and all of the friends we made.
MYTHS & LEGENDS:
JUNE 2-4
Dragons, wizards, knights! It is time to go back in time and learn all about the myths and legends of ancient times. Were there really fire-breathing dragons? Did Athena really hand down magical wisdom? Was Merlin getting into magical trouble? (Three-day camp is $55 M/$110 NM)
AMAZING ART:
JUNE 7-11
We will let our inner artist come out to explore at this camp. We will learn about different mediums and practice using them to create masterpieces. We will practice photography and collage.
MUSIC MAKERS:
JUNE 14-18
Campers will find their inner rock stars this week and may discover a new instrument or a new style of music, too. We will learn to use everyday items to
make music like the members of STOMP.
ROLLER COASTER TYCOON:
JUNE 21-25
We will take an imaginary trip to see roller coasters, Ferris wheels, bumper cars, and carnival games. We will play carnival games like ring toss, tic tac toss, the goldfish game, and milk bottle knock down. We will use all kinds of pretzels to create a roller coaster.

PATRIOTIC PAST & PUZZLES:
JUNE 28-JULY 2
Let’s celebrate America! Campers will play classic games such as baseball/ tee-ball and capture the flag. We will create red, white and blue crafts, learn about the gold rush of 1849 and create all things golden!
DINOSAUR STEM:
JULY 5-9
During our week of Dinosaur
exploration, we will dig for fossils and build dinosaur skeletons with straws and marshmallows. We will also mix ingredients to create dinosaur egg bath bombs. Perhaps they will hatch a dinosaur in the bathtub!
GAME SHOW MANIA:
JULY 12-16
Campers and counselors will face off in a variety of classic game show challenges. We will play Friendly Feud, Minute to Win It, and Classic Concentration. The ultimate test of smarts will come when the campers play Are You Smarter than your Camp Counselor? We will create the obstacle course of all obstacle courses and play a messy game of Double Dare.
GOING GREEN:
JULY 19-23
Save the Earth! Learn about ways to go green and make better choices for our environment. Campers will create art out of recycled material and make recycled paper. We will turn run-down crayons into art and new crayons
MAD SCIENCE:
JULY 26-30
“We are all mad here!” This week, we will dive into the world of mad science. Campers will grow crystals, make and compare slime, explode apples and race balloons.
CAPTURE THE FLAG:
AUG. 2-6
We will play the most popular game of the summer. Each day is a new version. Let the games begin!
FIELD TRIPS will be determined at a later time due to Covid-19. Some destinations will have restrictions on the number of visitors, etc.

SPACE CAMP:
JUNE 8-10
3,2,1...blastoff! We will learn more about space through books, songs and games. Your little astronaut will create space-themed crafts and will experience “moon exploration” as we jump in our
inflatable bounce house.
HAWAIIAN LUAU:
JUNE 22-24
Aloha! Beat the summer heat while we play water and beach-themed games, learn to hula dance and create crafts inspired by Hawaiian culture; including making our own Hawaiian leis.
DINOSAUR CAMP:
JULY 6-8
Travel back in time as we “walk like the dinosaurs!” We will learn more about dinosaurs as we engage in dinosaur-themed games, books, and activities as well as dancing and moving like the dinosaurs. We will become archaeologists as we search for dinosaur bones during a “Dino Dig.”
SUPERHERO CAMP:
JULY 20-22
This camp is designed to bring out the superhero in your preschooler! No
superhero would be complete without learning more about friendship and kindness. Preschoolers will build large motor skills as they complete an obstacle course and participate in other superhero training activities.
Preschoolers will be learning, growing and having fun in the YMCA’s
summer enrichment camps. The camps will engage young minds and
encourage social skills and new friendships.

JULY 5-AUGUST 5
This camp gives middle schoolers a bit of guidance and structure for part of the day to give parents peace of mind that their kids are developing and learning during the summer.
Session 1 Highlights: Kids will
enjoy a scavenger hunt, STEM activities (bridge building and the
Pringles ring), a fundraiser to support camp projects, and arts and crafts that they can use as 4-H projects if they wish.
Session 2 Highlights: Participants will
expand their horizons through photography, music, patriotic games and crafts, minute-to-win-it games, creating upcycled projects and learning about unique sports like archery, boga boards and golf.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP DETAILS:
Grades: 5-8 (2021-22 school year)Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday (bring your own lunch)
