FORMATTING STANDARDS FOR DATA ENTRY PARCEL NAMING STANDARDS:
The following fields in the Parcel Table are updated with information from the
Assessor’s Office. When a Permit is initialized, the address and owner name come from this database.
City Code - A list of 48, three (3) digit codes are designated for all parts of the County. Although the field is listed as a City Code, PB&I uses it as a Community in order to capture all areas in the unincorporated area of the County that are not in a City.

Street Numbers – Street Numbers are assigned by Public Works
Street Names – Street Names are assigned by Public Works. Use only names in pull down table when.
Street Suffix – the following suffix abbreviations shall be used:

PARCELS WITH NO ADDRESS:
Entering an Address into the Parcel Table is authorized under the following conditions: 1. The address is entered in the Assessor’s Megabyte system and has not been
updated in Permit’s Plus;
2. The Applicant provides a copy of a Recorded Deed that indicates an address; OR 3. The Applicant provides a valid address issued by the County Department of
Public Works on an official form..
Until an address is provided, enter ‘9999” in the location field when initializing a permit. DO NOT MAKE UP AN ADDRESS OR LEAVE IT BLANK.
The Permit Coordinator will ensure that a valid address is assigned prior to issuance of a Building Permit.
LOCATION (SITUS) FORMAT STANDARD:
The location (or situs location) field is a text field. The location information should be entered in caps, street number, street name and City. Do not use punctuation and do not put the City name in (parentheses). Use only one space between the street name and the city.

Owner Name – all CAPS, last name first.
Address 1 – if there is a person working for a company or in charge of a trust (e.g. C/O; ATTN) then populate this field
Address 2 – street number and street name always entered in this field Address 3 – city and state always entered in this field

APPLICANT NAMING STANDARDS:
The following field in Permits Plus is updated with information from the Owner or Application Request Form if different than the Owner in Assessor’s Database: Applicant Name – all CAPS, last name first.
Address 1 – if there is a person working for a company or in charge of a trust (e.g. C/O; ATTN) then populate this field
Address 2 – street number and street name always entered in this field Address 3 – city and state always entered in this field
Address 4 – Zip – Five digit

C/A/E/D NAMING STANDARDS:
The C/A/E/D database is maintained by the PB&I Department. The following major Record Types are maintained in this database:
1. Contractor’s 2. Architects 3. Engineers 4. Developers 5. Planning Staff
All formatting standards are the same as for Owner Records. The License field is used to store the professional license number for the Company name (not the individuals working for the Company).
