LSMW:-

LSMW is a tool used to transfer data from legacy system to R/3 periodically or once. It

supports conversion of data and Batch Input, BAPI, IDOC or Direct Input can be used as the

method for transfer of data. Total of 26 processing steps are available in LSMW, In case of data

transfer using Batch Input only 14 steps are required.

These are 14 steps are,

2 Maintain Source Structures

3 Maintain Source Fields

4 Maintain Structure Relations

5 Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules

6 Maintain Fixed Values, Translations, User-Defined Routines

7 Specify Files

8 Assign Files

9 Read Data

10 Display Read Data

11 Convert Data

12 Display Converted Data

13 Create Batch Input Session

14 Run Batch Input Session

2 Go to Transaction Code LSMW

Create Project, Sub project and Object and Click on Execute or F8

BOM is uploaded using Standard Batch/Direct Input; From the F4 select object 0030 and method 0001 (create)

4 Give name for recording and description and press Enter.

Now recording is started, give the input data for BOM and press Enter.

6 Following screen will appear, give required data and press Enter.

8 Same way you can give number of components in BOM.

Go to following path and save the file in to html format for further reference as shown below, Click on Default All

In this LSMW we need to create two Source structures (flat files), one for Header of BOM and other is for ITEM. Create as shown,

After creating it will look like below, Click Save and click on Back

Now system will move to third step, click on execute or F8.

Prepare the flat files as shown below, as there are two flat files there should be link to connect those, so the first field Counter is the linking which should be present in both flat files

Item File:-

Copy the data from Excel file and save it in Notepad (.txt)file.

After assigning the Header and Item files the screen will appear as follows,

System will automatically move on forth step, click execute or F8.

On Change mode screen will appear as below,

After assigning header and item file to the structres as shown above, click on Save and click Back. System will automatically move on fifth step, click execute or F8.

After mapping, Click on save and click Back.

System will automatically move on sixth step, but we don’t require sixth step, so move on seventh step and click or F8

On the first option i.e. Legacy Data On the PC double click, assign Header file first and the Item file as shown below,

A popup will come give the path as Zpath1 and file as Zfile1 and press Enter, then another popup will come just press Yes Create file for both popup and the logical path and logical file will get created automatically.

Double click here to assign the Logical Path and Logical File

Logical Path and Logical File get s created as shown above, then click on Save and click back. System will automatically move on eighth step, click on execute or F8.

On change mode first click on Header file and then click Create Assignment, same way assign Item file,

After assigning Header and Item file screen will appear as below, Click on Save and click back.

Click Back.

System will automatically move on eleventh step, click execute or F8.
