COMMAND

EXPLANATION

FUP COMMANDS

INFO Gives file list of the current subvol INFO filename, DETAIL Gives details of the file

SUBVOLS Gives list of subvols in present disk. DUP filename1, filename2 Create duplicate of file1with name file2 COPY filename1, filename2 Copies the content of file1 to file2. COPY filename1 Displays the content of file1

LISTOPENS filename Gives the program name which is using this file LISTLOCKS filename Gives the record locked in the file by the process ALTER filename, parameter changed value Alters that parameter of the file

SECURE filename, “file access code” Changes the security settings of the file GIVE filename, userID Gives access of the file to the different user LOAD filename1, filename2 Copies the content of file1 to file2 file1 must be a

DATA file not a tedit file PURGE filename Deletes entire file

PURGEDATA filename Deletes the content of the file

SPOOLER COMMANDS

SPOOLCOM COLLECT Gives the status of the spooler PERUSE To go inside the spooler

Job no. Selects the particular job

J Marks the selected job

LA Lists all pages of the jobs LL List last page of the job Ln List the nth page of the job LOC

Changes the present printing location of the selected job.

USERS *. * To check how many users are there RENAME file1, file2 Renames file1 to file2

RENAME file1, $disk.subvol.file2 Renames the file1to file2 in different subvol TEDIT filename Creates new tedit file

HISTORY Shows last 10 commands

! Executes last command without prompting

FC n Executes nth command

SYSBUSY Gives status of the system.To exit shift+esc.

F12 Clears history

OBEY filename Executes commands written in tedit file LOAD filename Executes a macro

PAK pakfilename, file1, open, audited, listall Compress file1into pakfilename

MYID Unzip the zipped file into specific subvol

PAK pakfile, @ file1 In this command we first give path for the files to be packed in the tedit file file1.

FTP COMMANDS (DOS)

FTP ip addr. Make connection with pc having that ip addr. LOGIN NAME Log on to the user account

PASSWORD Type password

PWD Gives present working directory ie. TANDEM LCD Gives local directory ie. DOS

ASCI Is used for transferring tedit file BIN Is used for transferring obj or bin file CD $. disk.subvol Changes PWD to your subvol

GET filename Copies file from TANDEM to DOS

PUT filename Copies file from DOS to TANDEM. The filename must be standard TANDEM filename
