The offertory last Sunday was $5,124. The total revenue was $5,299. The tithe of

$525 went to our tithe to the Archdiocese of Boston. This week’s tithe will be for the Promoting

the Gospel Collection. 10% of our parish revenue goes toward outside collections or various other charities. We make a statement about what we value when in our will we direct that our possessions be given to those we love, as well as to the Church and charitable organizations. Please remember St. Brendan’s in your will. Thank you for your generosity.

The Father Daniel J. Gilmartin College Scholarship

Our late pastor, Fr. Daniel J. Gilmartin, left as part of his estate, funds for a college scholarship to be distributed according to the decisions of the Pastor of St. Brendan Parish, who is the trustee of the Fr. Gilmartin scholarship fund. The scholarship is worth $1,000, and it is given for one academic year. Hence, the conditions that I have set for the awarding of the 2021-2022 Father Daniel J. Gilmartin College Scholarship are as follows: 1) the recipient must be in a College or Master’s program (or will be in the Fall); 2) the recipient must be known to the Pastor as one who lives a Catholic life of faith, worship, prayer, and service; 3) the recipient must give evidence of seeking academic excellence, providing evidence of this from the last two marking periods in school; and 4) the recipient must present a letter requesting the scholarship to me by Sunday, August 1st. Whoever receives the Gilmartin Scholarship will not be eligible for the scholarships awarded from the Parish Scholarship Fund. Fr. Mullen

Pray for the purification of the Church!

All Masses at St. Brendan’s are streamed and recorded. Simply

go to the parish website or St. Brendan’s You Tube page in order to

access the Mass of your choice. Please spread the word!

2021 Catholic Appeal

The annual Catholic Appeal continues. To date $11,659 has been pledged, which is 57 % of our assessment of $20,461. Please consider making your gift today by visiting bostoncatholicappeal.org or by scanning the QR code above. You can also get an envelope at the doors of the church and do it the “old fashioned way”. Your gift has an immediate impact on our parish and the work of our Church. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Last year we were successful in going beyond our assessment and received a small check back. This year our assessment is $20,461, which is slightly above last years. Please help us to reach our number this year.

St. Brendan Family Day at Canobie Lake Park

This is a family event: families provide their own transportation and chaperones. Please call the office or email Taryne Bakalars, [email protected] with any questions. Rain date for the trip is Thursday July 1st. The sign up slips can be found outside the parish office. Are Your Children A Bit Unhappy During Mass?

If your children are a bit unhappy during Mass, then they will perhaps enjoy a respite in the back or side entryways where the Mass can still be heard.

Catholic Doctrine Class

Each year Fr. Mullen conducts a Catholic Doctrine Class that is appropriate

for any adult seeking Baptism, Confirmation, or joining the Church as an adult

who has already been baptized in some Christian denomination. It is also

appropriate for anyone who wants to learn more about the Catholic faith. The class

is presented in a seminar style and the text used is the Catechism of the Catholic

Church. We have classes on Thursday nights at 7:00 P.M. These classes will begin

in mid-September. Those interested in attending are invited to contact the parish

office. If you have any questions then please contact Fr. Mullen.

Are You New to St. Brendan’s?

If you are new to St. Brendan’s then Fr. Mullen and Deacon Ghioni would like to meet you. Please introduce yourself to them after Mass. Also, parish registration forms can be found on the table outside the parish offices in the parish hall.

Holy Hour for the Purification of the Church

Please join us on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. for a HOLY HOUR for the purification of the Church. Sins against chastity and the abuse of power have put the Church into a grave darkness. The best weapon we have against this evil is prayer, especially prayer before the HOLY EUCHARIST and the intercession of our Lady. Please join us as we pray the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and more. The Church is in dire need of healing, St Michael pray for and protect us.

Pray for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life!

New Altar Servers Needed

Now that we are back to normal in our Holy Liturgy, we are in need

of training new altar servers. Parents of young people who would like to

serve at the Lord’s altar should contact the parish office in order to get on

our list. Candidates to be altar servers need to be in the fourth grade or

above.

Mission Statement for the Bellingham Collaborative

The Mission of the Catholic Communities of St. Blaise and St. Brendan is to be a people dedicated to spreading the Good News of God’s saving love to all, as we journey together in faith. As a sacramental people, united in the Eucharist, we seek to develop the full and active

participation of all peoples and strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we strive to give witness to God’s word and

through the teachings of Jesus Christ actively follow the Gospel message by living the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
