Through its project of internationalization “Abreu International - Legal Solutions”, Abreu Advogados seeks
to provide integrated legal services to its clients, tailored to meet their strategic needs in the Portuguese-
speaking countries and markets.
As a result, Abreu has established Associations with local prestigious law firms in Angola (FBL Advogados),
Brazil (Siqueira Castro Advogados), Cabo Verde (Arnaldo Silva & Associados, C&C Lawyers and Abreu Advo-
gados), China - Macao (C&C Advogados), Mozambique (Ferreira Rocha Advogados) and Timor-Leste (a Joint
Office with C&C Lawyers). By means of a common international strategy, the firm is able to provide to its
clients the same level of service and quality standards in the referred jurisdictions.
Each of the local Partners act according to the same values and quality standards as those practised by
Abreu Advogados, yet still, maintaining their own identity and autonomy. Therefore, in alternative to finding
an Abreu office in each jurisdiction, the firm undertakes the compromise that its clients will receive the
level of service they expect from Abreu, in the country where they have interests.

Leste. Each Desk has a dedicated team with experience and know-how in these jurisdictions, and is typically

PORTUGAL | ANGOLA : Abreu Advogados and FBL Advogados (In Association)
Angolan Law does not allow foreign law firms to practice in Angola.
Following its Clients’ needs and business interests in Angola, and in context with its ex- pansion and growth policy, Abreu Advogados has established since 2007 an Association with one of the largest Angolan Law Firms (FBL Advogados). Since then, Abreu Advoga- dos and FBL Advogados have been working together providing legal services to several domestic and international Clients needing assistance in Angola, in the areas of energy, environment, infrastructures, natural resources and banking/capital markets.
PORTUGAL | MOZAMBIQUE : Abreu Advogados and Ferreira Rocha Advogados (In Association)
Mozambican law does not allow foreign law firms to practice in Mozambique. Following its Clients needs and business interests in Mozambique, in 2010, Abreu Advogados es- tablished an Association with Fralaw one of the most prestigious and leading Mozambican law firms. This partnership was recently consolidated as one of Fralaws´ Partners also became an Abreu Advogados Partner.
PORTUGAL | CHINA : Abreu Advogados and C&C Lawyers (In Association)
In 2012, Abreu Advogados established an Association agreement with C&C Lawyers, one of the most prestigious law firms in Macao. Macao Law, broadly based on Portuguese law, allows Portu- guese lawyers to practice in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), upon their registration with the local Bar Association. This agreement will allow the joint provision of legal services to na- tional and international clients, not only in Portugal and Macao, but also in other markets of mutual interest, including China, Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, Cape Verde and Timor-Leste.
PORTUGAL | BRAZIL : Abreu Advogados and Siqueira Castro Advogados (In Association)
Abreu Advogados established, in 2012, an Association agreement with Siqueira Castro Advogados, the largest law firm in Brazil. This partner- ship aims to support customers of both companies in Angola and Mo- zambique, in various areas of law.The common language and cultural affinity between the two countries make the advantages of this partner- ship particularly relevant.
PORTUGAL | TIMOR-LESTE: Abreu Advogados and C&C Lawyers (Joint Office)
As part of its partnership with C&C Lawyers (China), Abreu Advoga- dos opened a law firm in Timor-Leste in 2012. Abreu Advogados and C&C Lawyers already have a team of resident lawyers in Díli, to provide legal advice to their national and international Clients operating in Timor-Leste, particularly in the energy and natural resources sectors.
PORTUGAL | CHINA | CABO VERDE: Abreu Advogados, C&C Lawyers and Arnaldo Silva & Associados (In Association)
In order to satisfy the needs of its clients in Portugal, China and Cabo Verde, Abreu Advogados and C&C Lawyers (office in Association, in Macau) established, in 2014 a partnership with Arnaldo Silva & Associados – a Cabo Verde law firm, which be- longs to the former President of the Cabo Verde Bar Association. This tripartite partnership is yet another step towards the international growth policy of the three law firms as it will promote a more active involvement in the relationship between the three countries.
