Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006
I. How to modify Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 to prompt you for
applications attempting to access your network and the internet.
1) Right-click the Trend Micro icon (in the system tray, next to the clock), then select Open Main Console.
Note: Temporarily disabling custom or user defined rules, should allow you to be prompted again when new applications are started. You should not have to disable the standard or default rules. Once you have configured your firewall to allow Peachtree Accounting to run on your network, it is recommend that you re-enable your custom or user defined rules. For more information about the standard or default rules, please see your firewall user guide or the vendors’ website.
8) When you start the Peachtree Accounting program and you are prompted to allow Peachtree for access, Select Grant Access. You may have to repeat this for the list of applications and components used by Peachtree Software and its database, Pervasive Software to the allowed list. 8) Enter a description (for example: Peachtree Accounting).
12) Set the Connection type to be Outgoing.
13) Set Action to be Allow.
III. How to modify Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 to allow Peachtree
Accounting to access your network and the internet once Peachtree has been
denied access.
If the applications and components used by Peachtree Software are not in the Exception list, please
follow the instructions in section II of this document (“How to modify Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet
Security 2006 to allow Peachtree Accounting to access your network and the internet”).
Note: Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006 Users that are running Peachtree on a network with a dedicated server or a Peer to Peer setup will also have to set up the server for the Peachtree Accounting database (Pervasive Software Database engine) to allow income connections.
