MASS INTENTIONS

For the Week of July 18, 2021

Welcome to the

Church of the

Holy Spirit!

To anyone visiting, new to the area, looking for a spiritual home, or are curious about the Catholic Faith, you are most welcome to join our parish. In communion with the Roman Catholic Church, our parish is united in faith in Jesus Christ. It is a place to grow spiritually through the Sacraments, placing faith in action in serving God with one’s whole heart, soul, mind and strength and by loving one’s neighbor.

Please remember in your daily prayers all the sick and homebound of our Parish, especially: Joseph Meehan, Kim Giglio, Lisa Giglio, Anna Simonsen-Meehan, Salvatore Bonina, Susan Wilcox, Alessia Dragonetti and Anne Yaggi.

If you would like your name or the name of a loved one to be included in this list, please contact

the parish of ice.

Re lecting on the Holy Eucharist, which

do you suppose would be a greater

miracle?

First: When a priest takes ordinary

bread and wine, says the words of

consecration "this is my body... this is

my blood" that the bread and wine

becomes the body and blood of Jesus

Christ but still looks like ordinary bread

and wine.

OR

Second: When a priest takes ordinary

bread and wine, says the words of

consecration "this is my body... this is

my blood" that the bread and wine

becomes the body and blood of Jesus

Christ and actually looks like real

lesh and real blood?

The irst miracle happens at every Mass. The second miracle would certainly be

extraordinary! But, which would be greater?

My vote is the irst. Still, there have been times throughout church history when

God has allowed the Consecrated Host and Wine to actually change into Real Flesh

and Real Blood. Oftentimes, these stories of "Eucharistic Miracles," have a similar

beginning; a priest doubts in the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy

Eucharist. These "lesser" miracles then are intended to promote faith and can

serve as a little reminder that Jesus is really, really present in the Eucharist.
