Swiss-quality training, wherever you’re with us

Grüezi!

At Swiss AviationTraining we believe in developing people by sharing our aviation expertise. And in all our activities, our prime aim is to adopt a training solution that is specifically tailored to your particular needs.

As a member of the SWISS Group, we have made traditional Swiss val- ues a cornerstone of our philosophy. So reliability and precision are as vital to us as our total commitment to safety and our personal and pro- fessional service approach.

Not that our services are limited to our Zurich home base. We offer our training in Munich and Frankfurt, too. All three sites are close to the air- port; and at all three we’ll provide you with an aviation training experi- ence that is totally geared to your service emphases and your opera- tional needs.

In doing so we make full use of our Airbus, Embraer, Avro and Agusta simulators, our cabin mock-ups and our smaller simulator facilities.

And, of course, of our skilled and experienced instructors who, with their vast operating expertise, ensure that all our training is closely aligned to real working practice.

Wherever you train with us – Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt or your compa- ny – we’ll do our utmost to meet your needs before, during and after.

So that you’ll return to work not just with the skills you’ve acquired, but with a little of our SAT philosophy and our “thoroughly Swiss” attitude and approach.

I wish you a wonderful stay.

Sincerely, Marcel Witzig

Chief Executive Officer

Who we are

Swiss Aviation Training (SAT) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Swiss Inter- national Air Lines Ltd. With our decades of Swiss airline training exper- tise and on-the-job experience, we train pilots, cabin crew members and maintenance technicians to the highest possible standards; and we enable trainers and instructors, too, to gain further qualifications.

Our clients extend to a number of international airlines, as well as other major service providers.

SAT is an Approved Training Organization (ATO) including type rating training, whose courses are approved by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) in accordance with the rules and regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and many further aviation authorities. SAT Technical training is an EASA Part-147-compliant Maintenance Training Organization (MRO), which is also approved by the Australian and Russian authorities and is widely accepted by fur- ther national authorities and the FAA.

Zurich, Munich and Frankfurt:

our three European training locations

At SAT we take a holistic training approach: we believe that your entire stay with us is part and parcel of the training experience. So we’re particularly pleased to have sited our three training centres in such ap- pealing locations. Zurich and Munich are justly reputed for their high quality of living and their delightful surroundings; and Frankfurt is one of Europe’s most vibrant metropolises, with a host of cultural attrac- tions.

Zurich: a Swiss city renowned worldwide

SAT’s Zurich training facilities are adjacent to Zurich Airport. As well as air services to destinations all over the world, the airport also offers a fabulous range of smart shops and a wide choice of restaurants and cafés, and is an ideal starting point for excursions near and far.

Zurich is the capital of Canton Zurich. The city stands on the River Lim- mat, where it flows out of Lake Zurich. The largest city in Switzerland with a current population of around 390,000, it’s a thriving cultural centre, and is frequently voted one of the world’s most desirable cities to live in. Zurich today boasts not only numerous museums, theatres and concert halls but some 500 bars, nightclubs and discos, too. The city is also home to both Zurich University and one of Switzerland’s two prestigious Federal Institutes of Technology, the ETHZ, which produced seven Nobel science laureates between 1975 and 2002 alone.

Munich: Germany’s highest quality of living

Lufthansa’s Munich Flight Training Center is located conveniently close to Munich Airport. SAT operates an Embraer 170/175/190 full-flight simulator here, and offers type training that is closely and carefully aligned to the specific wishes and needs of each airline customer.

Munich, with its population of some 1.4 million, is considered to have the highest quality of living of any German city. The capital of Bavaria (and the state’s biggest city), it is home to numerous national and in- ternational authorities, key institutes of science and technology and major theatres and museums. With its wide range of sights, interna- tional sports events, trade shows and congresses and its legendary

“Oktoberfest” beer festival, Munich attracts large numbers of visitors every year. It’s also one of Germany’s most economically successful and fastest-growing cities.

Frankfurt: the metropolis at the heart of Europe

Frankfurt, which is home to the main Lufthansa Flight Training Center, is Germany’s fifth-biggest city after Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Co- logne. With its central location, it’s a key European traffic hub and a major industrial, trade fair and services centre, and plays an equally vital role in Germany’s financial sector. The city has various sights to offer, too, such as the Main Tower, the Goethe Museum and the Alte Oper, along with a truly impressive skyline.
