COMMUNITY OFFICE NEWS

By: Mercedes McSwain, CLC Operations Director Page 10 NOTES/OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello and happy Summer!!

I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day, Happy Canada Day, and Happy Independence Day!!

The 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season is upon us. Time for all of us to start making preparations “just in case”. Residents can pick up a Hurricane Preparedness Packet from the Communication Center in the Mulligan Room. One packet per household, please.

Other hurricane preparedness resources available are:

The Highlands County Board of County Commissioners Facebook page to receive updates.

Bookmark the Highlands County Emergency Management website, www.highlandsfl.com.

Be sure you are being safe this summer. Practice these safety tips to keep your home & community safe:

Keep doors & windows locked. House doors & windows, shed door, car doors, etc.

Remove the key from your golf cart & secure bicycles.

Don’t leave delivered packages on your door step for an extended time.

For those with property in the storage area, make sure RV/camper doors are locked and boat batteries & equipment are secured.

Feel free to contact the office at 863-385-7727 or email

Mecedes@crystallakeclubfl.com, with any questions or concerns.

Crystal Lake Club’s New Community Liaison

Hello all! My name is Nicole Brand. I am your new Community Liaison for the CLC Community office. I am very excited to work with you all going forward!

I am a Highlands county native, having lived in both Avon Park and Sebring. I am very involved in the community at large. In my free time, I enjoy teach- ing ballet and performing on stage at

Highlands

Lakeside Theater.

I am also currently planning for a wedding with my fiancé, Greg.

GOLF COURSE NEWS Page 11

Hello Golfers,

The transition from the winter grass to the Bermuda base has been going as expected.

The areas that faded first have already

grown in with the exception of the weak areas from last fall.

These areas will heal as the Bermuda starts running and grows in. I still see no evidence of the disease from last year.

There is some Fairy Ring in the greens at this time but it is being treated on a monthly basis. I will be doing another aera- tion with solid tines on July 12th and 13th. I will close the front nine on the 12th and the back nine on the 13th.

Thank You ,

Guy M Knust
