Chief Viscuso is a career firefighter from Kearny, New Jersey and co-creator of FireOpsOnline.com. He is a nationally recognized instructor and speaker, and the author of six books, including industry bestsellers Firegound Operational Guides, Step Up and Lead, and Step Up Your Teamwork.Over the past decade Chief Viscuso has spoken to audiences (in and out of
the fire service) on many topics, including: officer development, leadership,
team building, and customer service. Frank has the ability to move people to action. It has become his trademark as a speaker and motivator. His seminars are designed to equip students with the
necessary skills they will need to excel in their chosen field.

Randy Crider is currently the Fire Chief at Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services. Chief Crider hasbeen with the department for 25 years. Prior to joining Cobb County, Chief Crider worked as a firefighter
in the City of Douglasville, Georgia for 9 years. Since joining CCFES in October 1990, Chief Crider has
worked his way through the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Chief to his current position as Fire Chief. He is a Georgia State Certified Firefighter, National Registry Emergency
Medical Technician Intermediate, and Hazardous Material Technician. He has completed National Incident Management
System 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, Incident Management/Unified Command for Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism Incidents, Incident Management for Hazardous Materials, and is certified as a NIMS Train-the-Trainer. Chief Crider is the
former Vice President of District 7 in the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, past President of the Metro Atlanta Fire Chief’s Association and is a trained mediator. Chief Crider is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Cobb. In addition to 34+ years in the
fire service, Chief Crider has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and
Leadership with a focus on Public Safety, and a MBA from Reinhardt University. Chief Crider lives with his wife, children, and step-children in Powder Springs, Georgia and is a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton.

Division Chief Campbell currently serves as the Training Chief for Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services, Cobb County, Georgia. The department employs 684 paid personnel serving over 700,000
citizens in an area covering 306 square miles. Cobb Fire operates out of 29 fire stations. Chief Campbell
holds a Bachelor’s degree in management and an Associate’s degree in Fire Science Management. Chief Campbell is a candidate for Master’s in Industrial Psychology in the spring of 2015. He serves as chair of the Metro Training Chiefs Council, Metro Atlanta.

TANKS
Chief Tanks currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Preparedness for Cobb County Fire and Emergency
Services, Cobb County Georgia. Deputy Chief Tanks began his career with CCFES in July 1991. He has worked his way through the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Division Chief, and was appointed to Deputy Chief of Preparedness in June 2013. Chief Tanks holds an Associate’s Degree in
Fire Science from Chattahoochee Technical College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Morris
Brown College and a graduate certificate of local government from UGA. He is a candidate for an MBA at KSU in May
of 2016. Chief Tanks served four years of active duty in the United States Navy and 16 years in the United States Navy
Reserves. He retired as a Logistics Chief Petty Officer in 2006. During his military career he was deployed twice in support
of Operations Desert Shield, Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He has served in multiple capacities throughout his career on both the operational and support sides of the department. He has served on many committees
and was a founding member of the Cobb Fire Officers Forum (COF) and served as COF’s first facilitator. He was chair of Metro Atlanta Firefighters Conference in 2010, a founding member of the Metro Atlanta Fire Officers Association, and
a founding member of the Cobb Fire Explorer Post #33. He is the current District Seven Vice President of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, Co-Vice President of the EXCEL Alumni Association, and currently serves on the Georgia Burn Foundation and the Wellstar Cobb Hospital Boards. He has received many awards. He credits his success to his faith and the wonderful men and women of Cobb Fire and Emergency Services. 5

clay
Chief Cecil Clay served for 28 years at the Oklahoma City Fire Department, and retired in May of 2015 as the Deputy Fire Chief of Operation. As the Deputy Chief of Operations, Chief Clay was responsible for four work sections of the Oklahoma City Fire Department: Suppression, Fire Training, EMS Training, and Special
Operations. He was responsible for fire ground operations and
emergency incidents.
Chief Clay holds a B.S. in Fire Science and an A.A.S. in Municipal Fire Protection. He worked his way through the ranks in the Operational Services Division, Suppression,
until he was promoted to District Chief in March 2004 and in January of 2008 was
promoted to Deputy Chief.
Chief Clay serves as a Commissioner on the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal Commission
and also works with the IAFC’s FSTAR project (Firefighter Safety Through Advanced Research) as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of fire tactics.
Chief Clay has been married to Laura since 1988. He enjoys running, saltwater fishing,

Lutzenkirchen
Mike Lutzenkirchen, father of Philip Lutzenkirchen, former Auburn student athlete, speaks on behalf of the Lutzie 43 Foundation to carry forward Philip’s Legacy. Philip lost his life in a single vehicle
accident on June 29, 2014.
Mike, a native of Wheaton, Illinois, has been married for 29 years to Mary and is father to Amy (27), Ann (25) and Abby (21). Mike
is a former two-sport athlete at Coe College (NCAA Division III) playing basketball and baseball. Mike’s career in sales, sales management and marketing included positions with Macmillan Publishing, Catapult Training, IBM, SpeedTracs and currently Vice President of Sales for Fuel My Club, a mobile app fundraising company.
Mike is currently Executive Director of the Lutzie 43 Foundation which carries forward Philip’s legacy through the education of students, student athletes and coaches. The Foundation focuses on leadership, charity, compassion, mentorship, hard work, honesty and faith.

Val Gale is the current Health & Medical Services Battalion Chief for the City of Chandler Fire, Health & Medical Department in Arizona. In this position, he has responsibility over the EMS responses of 121 paramedics and 70 EMTs. Additionally, he oversees the department’s Community Paramedic program.
Val began his career with the department in 1997 and has served
as a Fire Fighter, Engineer, Captain, and now Battalion Chief. As a Captain, he spent two years in EMS Operations where he coordinated two paramedic programs and managed the Crisis Response team. He was named Fire Fighter of the Year in 2008, Paramedic of the Year in 2002, and Medal of Valor awardee in 1999. Val holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, is currently working on a master’s degree through Northern Arizona University and was recently appointed to the National EMS Advisory Council.

Bryan Frieders, a division chief for the Verdugo Cities (CA)
Fire Department, and is president of the nonprofit Firefighter
Cancer Support Network. He was elected in October 2014. Frieders previously served on the FCSN board as director of communications; he remains FCSN’s liaison to the IAFC Safety, Health and Survival Section.
Frieders has more than 24 years of fire/EMS experience, including training and emergency management assignments. He is an instructor for the Virginia Fire Officer
Academy, conducted annually by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association on the University of Richmond campus. He also is an instructor for the Northern Virginia Fire & Rescue Leadership Development Institute, held each year on the George Mason University
campus. Frieders delivers training related to fire-service wellness, leadership, and
cultural paradigm shifts.
He earned a master’s degree in public administration, a bachelor’s degree in vocational
education, and an associate’s degree in fire science. Frieders also is an accomplished
commercial instrument-rated pilot with 1,150 hours of flight time.
