How to reach Bolzano-Bozen?

Bozen-Bolzano is on the main arterial road between Austria/Germany and Italy and it is easily accessible by train, car, or plane.

By train

Bolzano's train station is in the city centre.

There are a number of IC and EC train connections to Bozen-Bolzano: Verona (Italy): 1.5 hours (there is a train from VR to BZ nearly every hour) Milan Centre (Italy): 3 hours

Milan Malpensa Airport : 4,5 hours Venice (Italy): 3 hours

Munich (Germany): 4 hours Innsbruck (Austria): 2 hours By plane

Bolzano Dolomites Airport

There are only few flights to Bolzano/Bozen Airport, most of them are from Rome. A direct connection to the town is available only by taxi (cost about 12 €).

Getting downtown by train

MALPENSA EXPRESS (Ferrovie Nord Milano Trains)

Between the two Terminals of Malpensa, a free shuttle bus is available every 20 minutes about for twenty-four hours a day.

You can reach Milan directly from the Terminal 1 by Ferrovie Nord Milano trains, or, via Gallarate, by Trenitalia trains.

Malpensa Express trains connect the Terminal 1 of Malpensa directly with the centre of Milan (Cadorna Railway Station - connection with the Tube red and green lines).Trains also stop at Busto Arsizio, Saronno and Milano Bovisa. Trains depart every 30 minutes and the journey from the Terminal 1 of Malpensa to Cadorna Station lasts about 40 minutes.

Then you have to take the train to reach Verona and change for Bozen. Getting downtown by bus

FROM TREVISO AIRPORT TO PADOVA BUS STATION

Direct service from Treviso to Padova (Piazzale Boschetti) every 30' and every hour during festivities.

Timetable: in the working day, every 30 minutes during festivities, every hour

Journey time: 1h 10' Price: € 3,10 (single ticket)

€ 5,70 (return ticket)

From Padova - piazzale Boschetti you have to go to Padova railway station. You can even walk there. It takes around 10 minutes. Then you have to take the train to go to Verona (1hour) and change to Bolzano/Bozen.
