Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Our quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program is essential to pro-viding quality products and services to our clients. This program sets the high standards that assure our work meets or exceeds all applicable codes and requirements. Matrix Service sup-ports our commitment to quality with experienced inspectors, trained and certified in accordance with organi-zations that govern the maintenance, repair and fabrication of equipment in the industries we serve.

Matrix Service has developed a detailed quality management systems manual and ASME quality control systems manual that govern our performance.

These quality assurance manuals help control the quality of shop and field fabrication, andassembly and repairs to boilers, power piping and pressure ves-sels and ensure code compliance. Matrix Service maintains ASME S, U, U2 and P code stamps, as well as NBIC R stamp. Our Quality Control manuals detail procedures and guidelines for civil, structural, mechanical, welding, elec-trical, testing, painting and insulation services.

In addition to the QA/QC manuals, Matrix Service has more than 500 established weld procedures and the capability to produce new procedures as needed. We also maintain a com-puter-generated welder database to minimize unnecessary retesting of established welders and to record each welder’s capabilities.

Fabrication

Turnaround Services

Effective shutdown and turnaround management is vital to the success of every industrial facility. Our goal is to complete every turnaround or outage safely, on time and within budget.

We have the experience to execute multi-ple turnaround projects of varying degrees of complexity, ranging from a single unit to an entire plant. Our turnarounds are executed by an experienced team of proj-ect managers and field supervisors who expect the unexpected and solve prob-lems through constructability/design reviews, planning, project controls, appropriate staffing, equipment and material procurement, outsourcing and subcontractor management. We provide our personnel with the most advanced specialty equipment to minimize cost and maximize time savings, including truck mounted bun-dle extractors, tube rolling equipment, remote operated aerial extractors, Carey Lifts, straddle carriers and other spe-cialized equipment.

Planning, Scheduling and Cost Control

Successful turnarounds and outages demand careful planning, tracking and accurate cost control. Accurate infor-mation is the key to all planning and scheduling programs. Our primary goal is ensuring that our project team and client work closely together to address variables and agree on timelines. Though our planners and schedulers are proficient in a variety of software programs, P6 is the primary program used on TARS projects.
