Students benefit from an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates business and technology education into the health curriculum. DU has the only nursing program in West Michigan providing certification in the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) program. This certification helps students who want to work in the ER, ICU or in a critical specialty care unit by teaching methods for handling patients who are experiencing serious medical emergencies.
