2 General Description
2.1 Speedlink Architecture Description
The Architecture of Speedlink needed for its functioning has the following major components: ● User Equipment: Can be anything such as Laptop, Mobile, Tablet, etc that is designed to used the internet services that Speedlink technology provides. ● Speedlink boxes: Speedlink acts as an intermediary between the User Equipment and the VPN Server/Internet cloud which actually provides you the combined high rate internet service. ● MaxWell server : Maxwell server is the gateway towards the internet, this is the one which multiplexes and demultiplexes the combined bandwidth of all the multi tech dongles and creates a path for upload and download. Figure 1. Speedlink Architecture Diagram.
2.2 Speedlink Functional Description
● Speedlink is a device which when connected with multiple dongles of same or various technology aggregates the speed of all connected and gives you combined output which would be typically up to 8X. ● Speedlink intercepts all packets, splits and routes them in available connections based on patentpending Speedlinkintelligent algorithm. The packet chunks are assembled at our remote packet assembler service and routed to the destination, which ensures no packet drops in transmission. To dial the Internet dongles, plug in to the Speedlink and it automatically detects and dials the dongle. Zero configuration feature. To check the connection status, connect Speedlink to Laptop/Desktop or IPad/Tablet over WiFi Hot Spot or Ethernet and open any browser to start the admin interface, a simple and intuitive user interface shows the connected dongle with signal strength, current upload/download speed and upload/download data usage. User interface allows user to control the Speedlink like shutdown, restart and firmware update. ● Speedlink can handle 2.5G/3G/4G Internet dongles of any operator and WiFi. Initial Speedlink version supports 2.5G/3G and later versions will support 4G, DSL and WiFi.2.3 External Interfaces
2.3.1 Hardware Interfaces ● USB 2.0 ports: This Speedlink consists of 8 USB ports where in dongles of multi technology is supported(2G, 2.5G, 3G & 4G). ● Intel Wireless N7260: Provides WiFi hotspot facility and can output up to 300 Mbps speed. Ethernet RJ45 jack: Provides Ethernet output to the combined internet bandwidth by Speedlink and can render outputs up to 1 Gbps. 2.3.2 User Interfaces Speedlink Dashboard : Monitor and control Speedlink using our web based dashboard. Now you can visually monitor the connection state of each dongle. Also monitor the total download and upload speed and track the total data usage for the session. All the above using any tablet or smart phone or laptop. 1. User Interface used for view the status of the dongles. 2. Used for Configure the Hotspot 3. Used for Bug reporter 4. Used for Operate the box from the system. 5. Used for Checking the Updates and Update softwareInteracting with Speedlink 1. Connect the laptop or your mobile over the Ethernet or wifi with product. 2. Open any browser and access the “10.0.1.10:7515” 3. Now User Interface comes on the page. 4. Plug in the dongles and Observe the user interface. 5. Every dongle on the UI specify with their status. these status are explained on User Interface Section} For more details, please refer the User Manual of Speedlink. Figure 2. Speedlink Dash board.
2.3.3 Communications Protocols and Interfaces ● SpeedLink uses TCP/IP, 1Gbps Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n communication protocols and interfaces for its proprietary UDS core software.
3 Specific Requirements
3.1 SpeedLink and its support
● Speedlink aggregates the available bandwidth. ● Speedlink works on full capacity over any TCP based data application over the internet network. ● Speedlink supports UDP based traffic application but with limited capacity. ● Speedlink supports aggregation of up to 60Mbps over WiFi output and up to 200Mbps over Ethernet output.
3.2 Performance Requirements
Speedlink is designed to boost your internet bandwidth by upto 8X. Below are the performance graphs that illustrate how Speedlink can boost the bandwidth.3.3 Assumptions and Constraints
● First assumption is that a dongle is in perfect working condition. ● Dongles should be of 2G, 2.5G, 3G and/or 4G for this Speedlink to work. ● Dongles emitting better speed of internet will be able to see the Speedlink work to its best capacity. ● Speedlink is best suited for use with TCP traffic, hence the assumption here is TCP based applications are being used to test Speedlink upto its capability.3.4 Non-Functional Requirements
3.4.1 Security ● WiFi connection over Speedlink is protected under WPA2 personal security protocol. 3.4.2 Maintainability ● Firstly to say, Speedlink provides a lowmaintenance configuration for accomplishing the booster of your internet bandwidth.● Speedlink boxes will get automatic connectivity to cloud which monitors the health of the systems with all the dongles. If there is any updowns, low speed or disconnect the user will be notified. ● Speedlink gets automatic updates to the new software released when it connects to internet via the Speedlink internet connectivity. ● A well connected support system is established to help the customer, anything to deal with Operational or Maintainability problems. 3.4.3 Reliability ● Speedlink is highly reliable product with 99.999 availability. ● Reliability of Speedlink to deliver its promised high rate bandwidth depends on the working speed that every dongle inserted in it delivers.
