Can you believe its November already? And in just a few weeks most of us will have our cars put up for a long winter nap. So lets all get those Camaros out for one last outing of the year this weekend.

Please bring a dish to pass and Remem-ber your beverages and if you want to bring your slippers to put on after you take off your shoes so your feet stay cozy it is recommended. FALL COLOR TOUR 2013

First off I would like to thank all that made it

on the tour, It is the great people that make the moments great. THANK YOU!

Thursday started off with great weather once we left the Pilot station in Ionia, taking a left turn in down town Ionia and driving by Hackett School to

see club member Anne Kohler outside with the kids was a nice send-off, thankx Anne! Winding our way west on M-21 to Lincoln Lake Rd. head-ing north managhead-ing to find some pretty fair roads up and over to Pierson MI. where we joined with Dennis and Bonnie Edwards at the Trading Post.

After a short stop we made our way to a road side part on M-82 called High Rollaway overlooking the Muskegon River, from the high banks you could see the salmon in the river. Colors so far have been fair, the reds the brightest but still allot of green, but the sun was shinning on the WMCC and the roads were good.

You will never be forgotten

My second graders really loved the drive-by on the first part of fall color tour!! They were playing Camaro at recess and eve-rything! My principal came running out only to see tail lights, however!! Oh well, the kids thought it was funny!!

After a small unexpected Detour east of Morley we made our way to Blanchard MI. picking up Roger and his yellow 10. Rounding the corner on main st. the first thing we see is a Tour Bus and I knew then the place was going to be packed. Packed was putting it mildly, after making our way through some of the stores we decided to go down the rd. to an alternate lunch stop.

The Barn Door on M-20 between Remus and Mt. Pleasant is a small place with two Great Girls working on Thursday afternoon. With out any no-tice they served our group of over 20 with out a hitch.

Taking the back roads on up to Farewell then M-115 to Cadillac, X-way to Manton, cross back east to M-66, just a little side road past that turned out great, now we were getting into some real color. M -72 into Grayling and once at Fay's Motel this would rap up the first Tour leg.

Fay's was everything we had hoped for. Clean rooms, some not too big but we didn't plan to stay in them long. After checking in we got the fire go-ing, the Owners came out and clean up chairs, two yard swings by the fire was a nice touch also. The group split up for supper, some going to town for a little excitement and part of us just ordering pizza. Friday morning brought a surprise when we woke and found the Blue 78 of Steve and Kathy O at the Motel. The morning was pretty foggy as we

dragged our feet getting going. We pulled out of Fay's about 9:45 as the fog was just starting to lift. Taking M-93 out to I-75 to head north ( old US 27 is pretty rough between Gaylord and Grayling) just before getting to I-75 the Sun popped out and blessed us with its presents again for the rest of the day.

Exiting I-75 at the south end of Gaylord, going up business 75 we made a right turn at Grandview dr. to see the Elk in the park, what luck, they were right next to the fence.

Old US 27 north out of Gaylord to Wolverine, west on Wolverine rd., this road was made for touring in Camaros in the fall. Bills Farm Market is located on top of a hill overlooking Petoskey, we had to stop if for no other reason than to look over the countryside, OH the one bathroom came in handy also.

Down town Petoskey for another break/shopping proved to be a little more of a challenge than I had

previously though. the large parking lots I was planning on using turned out to be privet and full. the one city lot had just a couple of open spots but it all worked out and the stop was a success.

Next stop was going to be a Winery at what we though was farther south down the road and

From the Millers!

Before we joined up with the WMCC for the color tour, we stopped off to visit the Grandkids, in Fra-ser, MI… Jack is 6 and in first grade. It was Grampa Cheez's job to pick him up after school. Jack jumped in our Camaro and asked Grampa to drive by a group of his friends, so Grampa did Jack rolls down the window and yells "see I told You!!!" So Grampa asks Jack what he told his friends… Jack said he told them that Grampa was going to pick him up in his "race" car!!! Vroom-Vroooom!! Yep, at 1year Jack was reach-ing for the shifter… he LOVES Grampa's

Camaro "Faster Grampa Faster!" Don't you just love those little ones!!!

Just had to share… because we have extended family (divorced Granparents) we each have a name id to help the kids tell us apart… we come from WI so we are Grampa & Grama Cheez!!! Jack Loves when Grampa puts the Camaro through the paces…

We had a GREAT time and ENJOYED being with our Camaro Family for color tour!! John & Cheryl did a Super job of finding the most beautiful col-ors, weather and stops!! Great Tour!!!

White Thunder is tucked away for the win-ter… Mike hates this time of year… no more Camaro rides till next spring!! May the Curves in the Road be Fun!!!

Thanks, for the Memories, Sue & Mike Miller

once we got to were we though it was, it turned out to be back were we just came from. Some time descriptions on the computer aren't as accurate as you would like. Writing that one off we went west on US-31 making a stop at a water side park for take in the view then over to Boyne City rd. going down the east side of Lake Charlevoix to Boyne City. We pulled into the City complex to get some pics by the water, was about the only place to get all the cars in line without others in the picture. Carl wanted to go ahead and get some pictures of the group going down the road so we made a plan for them to head out on Advance rd between Boyne and East Jordan, Randy Martin joined Carl and Teresa for the go-ahead. Not paying close enough attention to the time we could of waited a little longer but once the camera crew found a spot and got out of their cars we were coming around the corner. It all worked out and we got some great pic, and a video. Murray's Bar and Grill was the lunch stop for the day in East Jordan.

Nice place with an outside deck were we perched and looked at the beautiful Camaros were

parked at.

M-66 south to Mancelona, Mancelona rd. east back to old US 27 just south of Gaylord down to Waters, most of the group got on the x-way there. Back to Fay's.

With the fire ready to light, a large part of the group decided to cook out on the grills provided at the motel. While some of the group went to

Fredrick's for supper. Others just sat by the fire and drank beer. The fireside chats were great and the Tigers were on in the trailer house for those who wanted to watch.

Saturday morning we woke with no fog and the whole group together we headed east on North Down River rd. past the National Guard shooting ranges making our way to Lewiston. Stopping for some quick stretching and potty, Randy Martin once again went ahead to take pics, he new the road and had a spot picked. North out of Lewiston just before M-32 the elevation drops and the road has a few curves in it. This is were we pass Randy perched with his camera ready. (THANKX

RANDY) Over to Atlanta were we stop at the City park on a small back water, lined up for pictures but the Trees made a little too much shade to get good pictures.

North on M-33 to Onaway, looking for a better spot

to take pic. we line up next to the Old court house in Onaway, The building is being reno-vated into a museum, when an old man pulls up I thought we were going to get into trouble for hav-ing Steve in the Handicap parkhav-ing spot it turned out that half the town came out to take pictures. It turns out that the older gentelman was the

gentleman of the Lady in charge of the museum, She came over and opened up for us and gave the group free rain. to check out the place, Very Nice People.

North on M-211 to Black Lake, around the east side and heading to Cheboygan you will find the Dirty Duck Salon, this was the lunch stop for the day. With 27 people stopping in they were a little overwhelmed but the food was good. It got a little Smokey when we smokedout life is good.

From the shores of Lake Huron to the shores of Lake Michigan, once we got to the southwest corner of Wilderness State park we found a spot right on the water to stop and take a stroll on the bestroll. This is the very top of the Tunnel of Trees heading to Harbor Springs by way of Cross Village and Good Hart. A potty stop in Cross Village and back down the tunnel. Just south of Good Hart you will find a turn to the

Thank YOU!

A huge thank you to Cheryl and John Smith for planning and instrumenting a great Fall Color Tour. The time spent to plan such an event is a huge undertaking and truly appreciated. Thanks

south off and along closer to the lake shore. This worked good, the colors were good but the traffic was getting pretty heavy and it just wasn't that much fun. The side road was just as curvy and if you like looking at big houses this was the place to be, and not traffic. A quick back track up the tunnel we found Pond Hill Farm, home of Harbor Springs Vineyards and Winery.

With a full Day behind us we found our way back to I-75 and run back down to Gaylord, the Stam-pede Grill and bar was the supper stop, with just a little wait to be seated the food was fair and the game was on. After supper we made our way back down to Fay's to once again hang out around the campfire. Umbrellas were in order for this evening but the rain was never very heavy and the evening was good.

Sunday for those who did not have to part is a hurry we went east again to Roscomon were we found the Michigan Firefighters Association Me-morial. this was kind of a neat place in the middle of no where. and that was the end of the Tour, Thanks again to all those that made the weekend great…

THANKX , John Smith

Carl talked that next year would be the 15th annual and get can kozie and pens for our goodie bags. Gary stated we raised $960.00 for Ronald McDonald House yesterday and the check is written for $1000 and will be delivered to them. He stated he heard no complaints. Marc stated he had people who asked if they could vote for more than 5 cars. Tammy stated we were down on registrations and it was felt that construc-tion had problems. Dennis asked what if we dropped the registraconstruc-tions and then charged for the shirts? The group felt that Berger is the one that stated we raise the price. Christi stated we are giving people a shirt and dash plaque. Gary suggested we tell people that are there before 10 a.m. will receive a shirt. John stated they found after the 11 o’clock time they had very few people come in after that. The group discussed the silent auction and Tammy shared that auctioning off items may be an option. Scott stated a live auction may be better in order to achieve a higher amount for the charity and he would be happy to help. Door prizes were discussed and anyone that does business on a regular basis may be open to giving some hats, cups, oil changes, etc. Christi stated door prizes and advertising this on the flyer is very helpful in increasing atten-dance.

Prints: Dave S. donated four prints to be auctioned with all proceeds going to the Ronald MCDonald Hospi-tal. Gary suggested that we auction two today and the next ones at the next meeting or possibly doing one for Christmas Party so we can advertise this in our newsletter. John stated members out of stated may be interested in getting a chance to participate. Gary suggested we sell one or two today and save the other ones for the next meeting. Christi stated that is a signed limited edition and it would be important for it to be matted on environmentally safe matting. One will be put on the newsletter and website in order to give out of towner's an option. An auction was held for the pictures. The first picture went for $120 to Tammy Loudon. It was decided we would auction another one off next month and then keep one for Christmas.

Meetings: The members have asked that we not come to Quaker for meetings as service was not good and it is just not good for meetings.

Club T-Shirts: We have a signup sheet and need payment for the shirts. Christi asked why members paying dues do not get a shirt every year. Gary explained that membership fees go to supplies and other things. Gary explained that the club shirts are $15.00. He stated if you want a different color write it down and he will check but that would be a custom order and could not be exchanged. Marc inquired if sweatshirts would be coming. Gary explained that we could get sweatshirts with payment up front. Gary expressed that new mem-bers would get white shirts until our inventory is gone.

October Meeting: Gary shared that the meeting would be at Dennis and Bonnie’s next month. Bonnie asked everyone to bring a dish to pass and we would do a potluck. Gary asked that the meeting be at 1:00 p.m. with all invited to stay and enjoy the day and evening. Bring campers as you are welcome to stay. Website: Gary expressed that Steve was taking over the webmaster position for the club. Steve stated the PDF would still be available and people can print and fill out the application and send those in. Christi stated the importance of explaining when we give out items. Steve stated he has created a new business card for easy inexpensive cards that can be given to promote membership. Gary stated we have fees involved with websites that we have to pay but they are minimal. The group discussed the option of charging those that need hardcopies sent to their house. The problems with opening websites was discussed. Gary will put specifications to what is needed for printing.
