RULES FOR VISITING STUDENTS (LLP/ERASMUS)

UNIVERSITY OF MILANO-BICOCCA (“UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO-BICOCCA”) ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014

ACCOMMODATION

CIDiS offers accommodation to foreign students attending the LLP/Erasmus European Community Programme at University of Milano-Bicocca. Accommodation , in shared rooms, is offered in the following halls of residence:

All rooms at CIDiS halls of residence have a private bathroom equipped with towels and bed linen (blanket, sheets, pillowcase, mattress cover, bedcover, bath towel, two additional towels).

Accommodation period: September 2nd, 2013 - September 30th, 2014. Halls of residence will be closed during the whole month of August.

Students must clear rooms of all personal belongings during summer closure. ART. 1 - PLACES AVAILABLE FOR ERASMUS STUDENTS

Places reserved to Visiting Students (Erasmus and other Exchange Programmes) are 120, as stated in the agreements between University of Milano-Bicocca and CIDiS, 20 additional places are reserved to other Mobility Programs.

The amount of places offered may increase if additional places become available. ART. 2 - ACCOMMODATION BOOKING PROCEDURE

Erasmus students of Milano-Bicocca University who are interested in accommodation with CIDiS halls of residence must indicate it on the on-line Application form on the web site http://www.unimib.it/ (English

version).

Due to the limited places available at CIDiS halls of residence and in order to plan students’ arrival, CIDiS has established the following procedure to book an accommodation: all students must submit the receipt of advance payment of the first rent along with the advance payment of the caution deposit corresponding to € 350,00, by fax to n. +39 02.64487060 or via e-mail to erasmus.bicocca @consorziocidis.it , to the CIDiS Office, by the following deadlines:

First semester : 22/07/2013 Second semester: 16/12/2013

The advanced payment due for booking is the following:

- € 300,00// in case of arrival during the first fortnight (1-15) - € 150,00// in case of arrival during the second fortnight ( 16-31)

In addition to the first monthly instalment, student will be asked to pay a caution deposit of € 350.00// against any possible damage for which he is responsible, or against damage to common premises if people responsible are not identified. The caution will be refunded at the end of the stay, by bank transfer on the Bicocca-University Card, that the student must activate, at any branch of the “ Banca Popolare di Sondrio”, during the stay in Milan, except in the event of any damages, unpaid fees or other debts. The advance payment of the first rent and of the unprofitable deposit must be made by bank transfer.

Without the receipts of payment, CIDiS will cancel the booking request. The payment of the rents (first half of the month or full month) starts from the date of arrival indicated on the application form on-line.

Art. 3 - CONFIRMATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE ACCOMMODATION

The CIDiS will assign accommodation in a hall of residence according to availability in shared rooms, (½ beds per room): students will not have the choice of accommodation.

Once completed the booking procedure, verified the payment of the first rent and of the unprofitable deposit, the student will receive at his email box, the acceptance form of the Rules (previously sent via email by CIDiS) and the acceptance form of the accommodation, that should be completed and returned by fax to the tel. number +39-02-64487060, or via email to: erasmus.bicocca @consorziocidis.it.

Afterwards the student will receive an e-mail confirming the assignment of the accommodation and an admission form. For being admitted, student should print and present this form at the Residence Desk.

Students who fail to go to the assigned CIDiS hall of residence within 15 days from the arrival date indicated on their admission form, will have their reservations automatically cancelled , and the payment of the first monthly installment ( half/full month) will not be refunded.

ART. 4 - MONTHLY RENT PAYMENT

Students are required to pay a monthly installment. The rent for the accommodation is € 400,00/

month/person. Costs of accommodation are as follows: € 300,00 for Erasmus Students, the remaining € 100,00 is supplemented by the Milano-Bicocca University. Rents may vary during the academic year. In case of an extension of the stay the € 100,00// supplement is not guaranteed. The payments of the monthly rents must be done not later than the 10th of each month of reference. The MAV monthly form will be sent to the student’s email box assigned and activated by the Milan-Bicocca University (firstname.lastname@campus.unimib.it).The student must use MAV forms; these can be paid at any bank (free banking transaction) or on the site https://scrigno.popso.it/PagoFacile/servlet/SeBenvenuto (enter as anonymous user) . The cost for on-line transaction varies depending on the typology of credit card used. It is not necessary to produce the receipt of payment to CIDiS. The monthly payment is reduced by the 50% in case of admission in second half the month and resignation in the first fortnight of the month. A € 15,00 fine is applied to all late payments. The lack of payment for at least two consecutive months constitutes a breach of contract and all rights to accommodation will be revoked. In any case the students is required to settle his debt. No refunds will be made if student resigns in advance.

ART. 5 – RESIDENCE ADMISSION

On the day of arrival students must present at the residence specified in the admission form. To enter in the dorm student must submit the following to the Desk:

1. I.D. card or passport

2. the admission form received from CIDiS .

Student has to sign a special report on the furniture and the materials supplied in the room of which he will

be responsible. The student is highly recommended to control the kit supplied. The maximum length of

stay allowed by the CIDiS accommodation service corresponds to the number of months stated in the Erasmus agreement between the hosting University and the student’s home University.

Requests asking for extension of stay (extension mobility) shall be accepted by the CIDiS depending on

room availability and after University approval. All requests for extension of stay can be accepted only if previously communicated to the CIDiS at least 30 days before the end of the Erasmus stay . Requests received at the end of the stay will not be accepted.

ART. 6 - PROVISIONS

In the event of non-compliance with regulations, CIDiS, after a fast communication to Mobility Office of the Milano-Bicocca University, the will take disciplinary action that may result in expulsion, while the € 100,00 monthly grant provided by the University will be immediately suspended for a month. In the event of further non–compliance, the monthly grant will be suspended for the remaining period of stay. Students, in case of convocation, are compelled to present at CIDiS Office, Vizzola Street , 5, 2nd floor, Building U12, Bicocca Campus, T. +39-02-64487059, from Monday to Thursday, business hours: 9.00 a.m.–12.30 p.m. and 1.45 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.– Friday: 9.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

Alcohol, drugs and anything else that could cause dangerous or uncomfortable situations to the guests, are strictly prohibited in the dorms.

ART. 7 - CHECK-OUT

Due to organization reasons, students must communicate the departure day to CIDiS Office and to hall of residence Reception Desk, at least seven days before their leaving date. Check-outs will be done on the day of departure, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

After an inspection check-outs will be communicated to CIDiS officers, and at the same time all damages and lacks will be reported, the costs of which will be refunded by the student directly to the house of residence. After the check-out the bed place is automatically revoked, therefore the student can no longer enter and use the assigned room again.

After receiving a report stating that neither damages have occurred, nor there are pending issues, CIDiS will make a bank transfer on the Bicocca University Card to return the unprofitable deposit back. For this purpose the student must activate, at any branch of the “ Banca Popolare di Sondrio”, the Card issued by the University.

To receive the certificate of completion of the Erasmus or Exchange stay by the respective University, the student must be up to date on all monthly payments and free of any administrative sanctions.

Art. 8 - CANTEEN SERVICE

Incoming Erasmus students are entitled to meals from CIDiS canteens or from associated cafeterias, using

a canteen card. The cost of meals is equivalent to the cost of the service ( 4th band). The canteen card is

issued at the cost of € 5.00. Canteen cards holders are entitled to two meals from Monday to Sunday. Cost

of meals varies from one refectory to another (€ 4,38 - € 8.00). Prices may vary during the year. Prices of

the canteen service, list of canteens and cafeterias that have a convention with CIDiS , terms of use of the card, are available on website www.consorziocidis.it ( See “Sezione Documenti” – Servizio Mensa e ristorazione). The canteen card is issued on an individual request. For more information, please contact:

In case of loss or theft, another € 5.00 charge is applied to obtain a new card.

Visiting students that are not staying at CIDiS hall of residence are eligible to receive the canteen card. Art. 9- BOOK LOAN SERVICE

The service is exclusively for books used or recommended by Professors. Erasmus LLP/Students attending Milano-Bicocca University can make use of this service paying a € 10.00 valid for the whole academic year ( administrative fees) and a € 50,00 ( security deposit), that will be refunded at the end of the Mobility Program. Rules and Regulations for the book loan can be found on website: www.consorziocidis.it

Art. 10 - INTERNET WIRELESS CONNECTION

“Delle Fontane” Hall of Residences - Building U12, is connected to the Milano-Bicocca University network. To activate the service, please contact the house of residence Desk.

“Del Parco” Hall of Residence, Sesto San Giovanni- Building U22, is connected to CIDiS SIMAN Network. All students are assigned an e-mail box by the University. The SIMAN network can be accessed with the log-in credentials received, consistlog-ing of a user name (firstname.lastname. @campus.unimib.it).
