At Meltham Dental Care we are proud

to provide you with a comprehensive

referral service for your patients.

Our team of clinicians have undergone extensive post graduate

training to ensure that we offer your patients the most

appropriate treatment for them.

Our priority is to make sure your patients’ experience is

delivered to the highest standards. Treatments are carried out

in one of our modern, state of the art and custom built dental

surgeries, which all include full mechanical ventilation to adhere

to surgical environments similar to those found in hospital

operating theatres.

Dr Bal Dhesi

BChD (UK) 2002, MInst LM

Bal Dhesi qualified from University of Leeds in 2002 and is the principal dentist at Meltham Dental Care. Bal has an interest in advanced restorative and implant dentistry. He has undertaken post graduate training which includes attending the Restorative Diploma run by the Faculty of Royal College of Surgeons and Introductory and Advanced Postgraduate Dental Implant Courses. Bal’s role includes assessing,

treatment planning and restoring dental implants at Meltham Dental Care.

Bal can also accept referrals for patients who wish to have their teeth straightened using Inman Aligner and the Six Month Smile system.

Dr Nicholas Lane

BChD (UK) 2003, MFGDP, DipRestDent RCS (Eng), Msc RestDent (Leeds), FFGDP RCS (Eng), DipImpDent RCS(Eng)

Nick qualified from Leeds University in 2003. He has a strong interest in Implant and Restorative dentistry, completing Diplomas in both these subject areas with the Faculty of General Dental Practice. He has gone on to become a Fellow of the Faculty of General Dental Practice at the Royal college of Surgeons London and completed his Masters in Restorative dentistry at Leeds. Nick is currently Director of the Faculty of General Dental Practice in Yorkshire.

Nick’s role at Meltham Dental Care is to place Dental Implants. He is experienced in treating nervous patients with IV sedation and provides this service for implant patients when appropriate.

Pallavi Gaitonde

Consultant in Restorative Dentistry

BDS, M Phil, FDS RCS Edin , FDS (Rest Dent ) RCS Edin

Pallavi graduated from the Govt Dental School, Bombay in 1994. After qualifying, Pallavi worked in the Edinburgh Dental Institute, Liverpool Dental Hospital and the Dept of Restorative Dentistry in Morriston Hospital.

In 2002 Pallavi took up the post of full-time Specialist Registrar to pursue a 5-year Higher Specialist Training Programme in Restorative Dentistry at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield, which she completed successfully in 2007.

Pallavi is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics and is on the Specialist Register of the GDC for all of the above.

She has worked as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry for a number of years.

When working at Pinderfields Hospitals NHS Trust, Pallavi has worked in rehabilitation of patients with Head and Neck Cancer, working alongside Consultant colleagues from other disciplines. She has been providing an advisory service to referring Dental Practitioners over numerous years. Pallavi has successfully conducted hands-on courses in Contemporary Endodontics and Management of Tooth-Wear. She lectures nationally and internationally on various topics on Prosthodontics and Endodontics for Dental Practitioners. She is involved in training Dental Foundation Trainees and is an examiner for the Membership of the Joint Faculty of Dental Surgery (MJDF) Examinations held by the Royal College of Surgeons England.

She has extensive experience in treating Advanced Cases of Tooth-Wear, Periodontitis (gum disease), Crown and Bridge-work, Veneers and Root-Canal Treatment. She is an expert in Complete Dentures, this stems from her vast experience in treating patients with Oral Cancer, which she delivers with compassion and patience.

She also places and restores dental implants to replace missing teeth.

Mark V Willings

BDS (UK) 1991, MFGDP (UK) DIP IMP DENT RCS (ENG) FFGDP (UK

Mark qualified from the prestigious Guys Hospital Dental School in 1991. In July 2004 he was awarded the Advanced Level Certificate of the Diploma in Implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in October 2009. For 10 years Mark worked at Manchester University Dental Hospital in the department of Oral Maxillo Facial Surgery, exclusively spending his time working on all aspects of surgical dental implantology. This gave him valuable experience treating very advanced cases including patients who had significant deformities caused by extreme trauma and in the rehabilitation of patients who had surgery for oral cancer.

Mark is also an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at Manchester University Dental Hospital where he is involved in teaching the Masters students in Implant Dentistry.

Mark’s role includes treatment planning and undertaking advanced implant placements including grafting and sinus lifts.

Pallavi was awarded her first Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FDS RCS Edin) in 2000 and then received her second Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons (FDS RCS Restorative Dentistry Edin), Edinburgh in 2007.

In 2008 she was awarded an M Phil in Bio-Materials by the

University of Sheffield for her thesis titled “An in-vitro assessment of the internal and marginal fit of zirconia crowns manufactured by three CAD-CAM techniques”.

Pallavi has worked previously at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital as a clinical teacher, undertaking clinical teaching of dental undergraduates.

She is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, British Society of Restorative Dentistry, British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry, British Endodontic Society and the British Society of Periodontology.

Pallavi accepts referrals for the following:

• Endodontics simple and complex including re-root canal treatment, fractured instrument/ post removal.

• Periodontics simple and complex including non surgical/ surgical periodontal therapy along with surgical crown lengthening and grafting for gingival recession. (Please note all periodontal therapy will be carried out by Pallavi and will not be carried out by a therapist)

• Prosthodontics simple and complex, ranging from partial dentures to difficult full denture cases with and without implant retention • Restorative complex cases ranging from tooth wear cases through

to full mouth rehabilitation implants to replace missing teeth.
