Price List Guide Scope
The Volume Licensing Price List Guide is a companion resource that corresponds to the Price List. The intent of the Price List Guide is to proactively communicate strategic information connected to activity on the Price List at a global level. Examples of such activity are as follows:
Adds – Strategic new product launches or program offerings, including promotions Changes – Strategic product or program price changes
Deletes – Strategic “end of life” product discontinuations
All information relating to error corrections will be communicated through the standard Operations Communication (OpsComm) process posted on www.explore.ms. Examples of such activity are as follows:

No Future Full Versions for Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010
Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 Service Pack 4 was shipped in November 2013. Following this release, no future full versions of the product will be delivered.
• Forefront UAG Software Assurance (SA) SKUs will be removed from the price list on January 1, 2014. All remaining SKUs will be removed on July 1, 2014.
• Forefront UAG will continue to be supported through the published support lifecycle. Mainstream support will end on April 14, 2015, and extended support will end five years later on April 14, 2020.

• Customers with active Software Assurance on Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 or Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 CAL as of December 1, 2013 may add new server instances, users and devices without any requirement to order additional Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 licenses. Ongoing use of the software remains subject to the terms and conditions of the customer’s Volume Licensing agreement, the product use rights for the software, and the terms and conditions here.
• Customers with active Software Assurance coverage for the Qualifying License as of December 1, 2013 are granted one Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard server license per Qualifying License.

SQL Power BI for Office 365
Power BI for Office 365 is a complete self-service Business Intelligence (BI) solution delivered through Excel and Office 365 that provides data discovery, analysis, and visualization capabilities to help users identify deeper business insights from their data. The Power BI for Office 365 service is a cloud-based solution that reduces the barriers to deploying a business intelligence environment for sharing reports and accessing information from anywhere.

Office 365 Add-Ons (formerly OOVO) is now available through the Open Channel enabling customers to easily move to the cloud by providing a simple, low-cost way to add Office 365 while maintaining their current Software Assurance benefits. Customers retain all Software Assurance benefits including rights to new product versions, support, training and other services to deploy and accelerate the adoption of Office 365. Core elements of the promotion are as follows:
• The customer’s existing SA agreement does not change. Pricing recognizes existing investments in CAL Suites and Office with Software Assurance, while preserving the customer’s volume discounts for on-premises software and online services.
• A customer can only purchase the number of add-ons as they have underlying Qualified CALs (Client Access Licenses) (1:1 ratio)
• Ability to purchase any quantity, at any time (mid-anniversary)
• The customer must have existing Open Value Company Wide or Open Value Subscription licenses with active Software Assurance for the following qualifying products:

Changes to Point Counts cannot be tied to a particular price list month. Point counts flow to downstream systems as soon as they are either set, or changed. While this precludes the ability to provide a 30-day preview on point count changes, it does mean that point count errors can be corrected quickly without relying on the following month’s price list publication schedule.
As point count changes will not be visible on the preview price list, please refer to the Product List for updated point counts in the interim.
License point values (referred to as the “Unit Count” on price lists) are assigned based on a product’s global base price using a sliding scale and are only applicable in the Open and Select program. Each product pool (Applications, Systems, Server) has a unique scale for assigning point counts.

Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Pricing Error Corrected in January 2014 Price List
This summary is applicable to the January 2014 price list changes only.
Microsoft announced price changes for Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Windows Server Datacenter edition across all programs and channels. The price changes for the SPLA and ISV academic skus for these products were published with errors. The errors have been corrected and republished in the January 2014 price list. This republication is effective on January 2, 2014. Any previous January 2014 price list will not have the correct academic skus in question. The corrected prices will reflect the price increases that were announced earlier in the year for all programs. Any academic SPLA

partners who have already downloaded the January 2014 price list should be advised to download the updated price list to insure that they have the correct academic prices for these products.
