REQUIREME TS FOR ALL COMMERCIAL / I DUSTRIAL PLA S: Complete sets of plans must be submitted.

2 copies plans or drawings will be drawn to scale with dimensions called out on

substantial paper (11” x 17” min) and shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work to be done.

In certain situations the Engineering Department may require plans, computations and specifications to be prepared or designed by a Wyoming licensed engineer or architect. All plans shall include the address or legal description of proposed construction site. Provide proof of ownership.

All plans submitted shall include the total valuation of the project including building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, etc.

GE ERAL PLA S REQUIREME TS - COMMERCIAL A D I DUSTRIAL

Most new commercial, industrial, commercial additions, and alterations must have plans stamped by the architect; structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical engineers as determined by the Building Official. Architects and engineers must be licensed in Wyoming.

A soils examination and engineer's foundation design is required for all new commercial construction and additions.

required, hard-surfaced parking; and other pertinent details as may be required by the Engineering and Fire Departments.

“Spec” books are required for all stamped plans. “Spec” books are recommended for all projects. Specifications should include, but not be limited to: methods of construction and/or application; materials; size and type of HVAC equipment with BTU input ratings for heating equipment; types of equipment and testing agency listing; wall and ceiling finishes; floor coverings; connections and fastenings; handicap requirements; glass and glazing requirements; wind and snow load design criteria; fire resistive and protection criteria; life-safety requirements and criteria; and seismic design criteria.

Plans must clearly indicate Construction Type(s), Occupancy Classification(s), Number of Square Feet, and Number of Stories (including at grade, above, and below grade). Plans must be drawn to an appropriate scale on substantial paper and clearly indicate the nature, extent and location of the project.

ELECTRICAL PLA S REQUIREME TS - COMMERCIAL A D I DUSTRIAL:

The following information shall be provided on the electrical plans (if applicable) for commercial and industrial installations:

Main Service Equipment & Subpanels should be shown on all plans, including designations.

Service Entrance Detail- Showing Utility Transformer or U.G. Secondary’s, Metering requirements, Grounding Requirements, UFER Ground, Ground to Water Service & Building Steel…. Including grounding conductor sizes.

One-line diagram with AIC Ratings of Breakers, Main Service Disconnect, Feeder Breaker Sizes, Conduit & Wire Sizes for Feeders, Sub-Panel Designations with Branch Circuit Breaker AIC Requirements (Or Series Rated Branch Circuit Designations). Panelboard Schedules- with bus size, Phase Indication, branch circuits with load distribution.

Load Calculation for Electrical Service and for each Subpanel Voltage drop calculations for subpanels.

Light Fixture Schedule- Including Manufacturer listing, Mounting, Number of Lamps, Type of Lamps, Ballast Configurations and battery backup notation.

Electrical Details for parking lot lighting controls

Electrical Site Plan- with parking lot lights, transformer location, meter location, pole base details.

Mounting Heights requirement for devices& equipment logo

Legible Drawings with accurate scaling showing all equipment and devices, building footprint and accurate locations.

Power & Signal Plans- including receptacles and tele/data outlets shown along with circuiting. Voltage Drop Calculations for branch circuits over 200 feet

Special Signal Plan- with fire alarm devices (pull stations, horn/strobes & visual alarm devices with candela ratings noted, outdoor H/S, fire sprinkler with flow switches & Tamper switches shown).

Mechanical Power Plan- showing all mechanical equipment, furnaces, heat pumps, blowers, air handlers, chillers, A/C units, including thermostat locations

A Wyoming licensed electrical engineer's stamps shall be provided on all structures with a 3 phase 400 amp electrical service or larger and/or 10,000 amp or larger fault current. Ref: NEC 110.0 and 110.00

PLUMBI G PLA S REQUIREME TS - COMMERCIAL A D I DUSTRIAL

Plans shall show location and type of all plumbing fixtures.

Plans shall indicate whether the water heater is gas or electric and its location. Plans shall indicate whether or not there are plumbing fixtures located below the next upstream manhole or below the main sewer level.

Plans shall indicate the location of building drain's back water valve if applicable. Plans shall show what is existing and what will be changed. For example if the job is a remodel with a bathroom addition, the plans need to indicate what, if any, plumbing fixtures will be eliminated and where the new fixtures will be located. Fixtures need to be labeled on the plans (lav, tub, laundry, kitchen sink, etc).

Riser diagrams for drain, waste and vent system indicating sizes of piping. Riser diagrams for water distribution system indicating pipe sizing.

Detail of water entry into the building to include fire riser, and domestic water systems showing backflow prevention devices. (Types shall be indicated either on plan or in specifications or both).

MECHA ICAL PLA S - COMMERCIAL A D I DUSTRIAL

Location and labeling of all mechanical equipment such as central heating equipment, gas and solid fuel fireplaces, exhaust fans to include kitchen range hoods) which are exhausted to the outside of the building, air conditioning equipment, and space heating equipment such as suspended unit heaters in garage or shop area.

Sizes for all heating and cooling equipment must be indicated such as BTU input, tons or horsepower, whichever is applicable.

Plans need to indicate the source of the combustion air required in Chapter 3 of the International Fuel Gas Code.

Provide fresh air CFM and location of equipment. Detail controls and how fresh air will function.

Operating CFM for all air handling equipment. Details on all commercial cooking equipment.

Details on all commercial hoods, both Type I and Type II and their exhaust ducts. Location of fire dampers and installation details.

Details on special duct supports such as for duct heaters and other equipment. Indicate location of automatic gas shutoff for appliance under Type 1 hoods. Indicate all supply air and return air openings.

Indicate duct material.

Show any above ceiling return air spaces.
