I. Instrument Descriptions
OPTIZEN MINI-SP is a portable analyzer for fast and accurate tests in agricultural fields. This small and light unit makes you feel what is portable.
OPTIZEN MINI-SP guarantees the same test results with a reagent type pesticides detector, but makes you test easier and faster with our technologies.
II. Standard Component
OPTIZEN MINI-SP is composed of body, PC Download Software CD, PC connecting cable, DC 9V adapter and Rechargeable batteries.
1. Body
The exterior of body is consisted of Grip for carrying, Battery part, Cell compartment, Status display lights, LCD display part, Control pad, and Power & Communication ports.

The rear side of OPTIZEN MINI-SP is same as picture shown below.
Three volts at the center is to fix the Cell Compartment. Rest six screws are to fix an upper body and a bottom body. And there are two small screws for the battery part and a place for Label.

2. Power supply adapter & USB Cable
Adapter for power supply and USB cable for pc S/W is included. Users must use offered Adapter and USB cable, we are not responsible for malfunction and explosion of OPTIZEN MINI-SP from using other kinds of Adapter and USB cable.

III. Keypad Functions
OPTIZEN MINI-SP' s Keypad and its function Keypad is composed of 10 number keys and 7 function keys.
Number 8 and number 2 also have up&down scroll function.

IV. OPTIZEN MINI-SP Setup
1. Power
OPTIZEN MINI-SP receive power by rechargeable batteries and DC power adapter
Replacing batteries
1.2*4 AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries supply power to OPTIZEN MINI-SP so that users can use it in laboratory or fields.
Battery part is placed at the rear side of OPTIZEN MINI-SP' s grip. It is easy to put batteries.
A. Before putting batteries, turn off the power and disconnect OPTIZEN MINI-SP from the computer.
B. Remove 2 volts at battery part and open the cover.
C. Remove used up batteries and put 4 new batteries.
D. Put the cover and screw the volts.
* Be careful the direction of batteries.
* 1.2V AA size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are using in OPTIZEN MINI-SP. Using other kinds of batteries can cause the malfunction and explosion of OPTIZEN MINI-SP.
* Charging time : 5 ~ 6 hours

Using adapter
When using in indoors where it is easy to supply the power, use DC 9V adapter.

2. Switching on
Put rechargeable batteries or connect DC 9V adapter to instrument.
Then press button to switch on OPTIZEN Mini-Sp.
Initial screen is displayed and s디f-testing is started for checking H/W condition.
V. MiniView S/W
As you run [setup.exe] file in included CD, it will automatically install MiniView. After installation, below Icon will appear on the screen.

Double-click the icon to run the program.
MiniView helps you to transfer measured data to your PC. And it helps you to make reports and other documents.
Since data are also saved in PC hard disk, it is easy to manage.
PIC 9. MiniView Program
When MiniView is running, you don't have to do extra settings for communication.
Followings are how to transfer measured data from Optizen MINI-SP to PC.
① Connect supplied USB cable to PC.
② As connecting USB cable to Optizen MINI-SP, Optizen MINI-SP shows <<PC connecting mode>>. PC detects and checks whether the communication is possible or not.
③ Run MiniView and click [Download] button to download the result of measurement.
Transferred result shows at the window.
If “Download failed.” message appears, Optizen MINI-SP checks the connection between MINI-SP and PC.
In this case, It is mostly because of the failure in recognizing USB.
First, remove cable that is connected with PC, reboot PC and follow steps above.
As transferring measured data is completed, measured data will show as picture below.
PIC 10. After transferring measured data
[Print Report] : Click [Print] button to print data in Report format
[Continue downloading] : Click [Continue downloading] to download new data at same window.
[Save file] : Click [Save file] button to save data as Miniview file(*.Mini)
[Delete selected items] : Click [Delete selected items] to delete selected data.
VI. Measurement and Setting
When turning on OPTIZEN MINI-SP, Self-Initialization is processed.
After Self-Initialization process, the screen automatically moves to << Measure Mode >>.
To proceed to Main menu, click [ESC].
<< Main menu >> is composed of 3 functions.
1. Measure Sample
Measuring pesticides residues in agricultural samples
2. Measure Blank Measuring Blank 3. Setup Mode
Setting up the Criterion and Date
In << Main Menu >>, there are other function keys and functions as below. User can perform functions for each keys shown as below.
[TIME] : Timer function that shows the time taken in extraction &
reaction of the sample. This function works in any modes.
[DATA] : It shows saved results. User can send data to PC or print them with the printer.
1. Measurement
You can measure inhibition rate of pesticides residues by selecting [1. Measure sample] and [2. Measure Blank] at << Main menu >>
Select 2. Measure blank.
When “Insert Blank” message appears, Input blank strip and press [Enter].
If there is other blank, input blank strip and press [ENTER]. If there is no other blank, press [ESC] to << Main menu>>.
Press 1. Measure sample at <<Main menu>>
“Insert SAMPLE ” message will appear. Insert sample strip and press [ENTER].
After measuring, OPTIZEN MINI-SP shows result screen as picture left. Pass/fail of results will be determined by pre-set data from 3.
Setting -> 1.Criterion OPTIZEN MINI-SP. To measure other samples, change samples and press [ENTER]
To save the measured results, press [DATA]
key then the screen as picture left. When user select [DATA], with the sound of buzzer, shows messages shown as left and save the data.
User can check the saved data later and also able to PC transfer & Print.
2. Setup mode
Press [3. Setup Mode] at << Main menu>>
<< Setting up Criterion >>
1. Select [1. Criterion] to set the Criterion value.
1. 30 % : Set Criterion value at 30%
2. 50 % : Set Criterion value at 50%
3. INPUT : Set Criterion value as at user's will.
When selecting 3. "INPUT", user can set criterion value as one's own will.
Old is existing input data New is new input data.
Input new Criterion value and Press [ENTER]
to save the newly input value.
<< Time setting >>
2. Select [2. SetUp Date].
Real Timer, embedded in OPTIZEN MINI-SP offers convenience of setting accurate measurement date and measurement time. And you don't need to set up whenever turning on the instrument since it uses separate power.
To set the timer, input date and time that user wants by using [ESC], [ENTER], and number keys.
Followings are functions of each keys.
[ESC] : Delete numbers
[ENTER] : Move to next and complete [0 ~ 9] : Input numbers
Set date in turns using proper keys. After setting, press [ENTER] to save and move back to main menu.
3. STOP WATCH
To check the time of extraction and reaction, use the embedded timer.
[STOP WATCH] function works while other functions are working, after work finishes it goes back to the previous screen.
When you execute [STOP WATCH], there are time settings for sample's extraction and reaction
Select the function that is necessary in experiment.
Sampling
Select [1. Sampling(5)] to process sample step 1. 3 minutes later, alarm will sound and move next step.
Processing sampling step 2. 2 minutes later alarm will sound and go back to << STOP WATCH >> menu.
REACTION
When you select [2. REACTION], [Enzyme 6min.], [Substrate 3min.],
[Tinting 1min.] each process will start step by step. First of all, 6 minutes timer for Enzyme process starts. When it's over, the alarm will sound.
After Enzyme process, 3 minutes timer of substrate process is automatically started.
When substrate process is over, alarm will sound.
When Substrate process is over, 1minute Tinting timer is automatically starts. Same as last step, when tinting process is over alarm will sound and go back to << STOP WATCH
>> menu.
3. Data
User can check saved results and print all saved results.
User can check saved data by selecting [DATA] at << Main menu >>. Press arrow Key (▲,▼) to scroll the measured result lists and press [PRINT] Key to print the whole saved results.
Print result
When user press [PRINT] key at measured list . To print the result, press [ENTER] key.
(External printer should be connected to the port)

VIII. Appendix – Rapid Pesticides Residues Test
1. Extracting sample
► Extract 3~4 samples.
► Fold 3~4 samples once, extract 6~7 times using extractor then put them in the test tube.
► Put 1㎖ of methyl alcohol and 100㎕ of reagent 1(A), shake well and leave it for 3 minutes.
► 3 minutes later, when buzzer rings, put 100㎕ of reagent 2(B), shake well and leave it for 2 minutes.
► Put the extracted liquid in separate test tube.
2. Reaction
►Prepare the number of sample+1 of test tubes, and distribute 1ml of phosphorous buffer solution in each of them.
►Put 100㎕ of the liquid extracted from the sample. Do not put anything in blank test tube.
►Prepare strip and put it on the temperature control block.
►Divide 60ul of reaction solutions on each white strips carefully and turn on Thermo Cell Holder heating mode.
►6 minutes later, put the cover that red reagent is attached.
►3 minutes later, remove the cover.
►Reacting for 1 minute.
►Put the switch of temperature control block at 'Cool'.
⊙ Stop watch is embedded in OPTIZEN MINI-SP. You can use it whenever pressing [TIME].
3. Measure
►Turn on the OPTIZEN MINI-SP.
►Press Measure blank(2).
►Put Blank strip, press [ENTER]
►Press ESC to the main menu.
►Press Measure sample(1).
►Put sample strip and press [ENTER], the inhibition rate is automatically calculated.
⊙ To save measured data, press [DATA] key at the screen that shows results.
4. Caution
►OPTIZEN MINI-SP uses DC 9V power supply and temperature-control block uses DC 19V power supply. When connecting adapter to OPTIZEN MINI-SP, please check the voltage. If connectors between OPTIZEN MINI-SP and temperature control block is switched, it can cause malfunction and error of instrument.
►When measuring, put strip to the end. If strip is not correctly inserted, it may cause error in measured results.
►There is difference in Ph of phosphorous buffer solution between Strip type and reagent type. Please use the reagent that we offered.
