WHY HIGHER EDUCATION?
With so many options after school and college, why is university a good option?
What are the benefits of going to university? Is it worth the cost? This presentation aims to inspire students to consider university and motivate them to enjoy the researching process.
MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE With over 150 institutions and over 40,000 courses how do students decide where to go and what to study?
This presentation will provide helpful hints and tips to support students through the decision making process.
STUDENT LIFE
What is life at university really like? Delivered by a current DMU student, this talk provides students with an insight into student life and what to expect from university.
UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE DAYS Our university experience days are designed for whole year groups in either Y11, Y12 or Y13 to visit the campus and get a taste of student life.
The day will typically include a campus tour and a chance to meet our students and ask them questions. We can deliver bespoke days incorporating any of our presentations into the timetable.
SUMMER FESTIVALS
During the summer we host a number of interactive and inspiring subject-specific festivals. This year we will be offering:
• Art and Design

HOW TO APPLY
This talk provides students with an overview of the UCAS application process, outlining key dates, how to complete the different sections and what happens post-application.
PERSONAL STATEMENTS What to do, what not to do and how to get the dreaded personal statement onto paper.
This talk can include interactive activities to get students started on their statements.
SUCCEEDING AT UNIVERSITY INTERVIEWS

DON’T BLOW THE BUDGET This interactive activity gets students splashing cash from a fictional budget, overcoming financial obstacles and understanding how much university actually costs.
This game also encourages group work, negotiation and leadership skills.

The presentations below give you a flavour of the inspiring and informative sessions we can offer that cover the whole breadth of the UCAS cycle. Our talks are flexible in duration and can be delivered individually or combined depending on your school’s needs.
