Adapt to the challenges of teaching online. Gain first-hand experience as an online learner within a dynamic learning community. This course addresses the complex relationship between content, pedagogy, and delivery in the virtual classroom.

Immerse yourself in a three-dimensional learning landscape. You’ll explore theonline world known as Second Life, learning its communication systems, avatar creation, and how it can enhance student collaboration.

Collaboration; Dates: Oct 7, Feb 3, March 17; CEU: 3.0; Cost: $275/person; Materials: Must install the following programs: Second Life and Ventrilo. Since Second Life is a graphically

intensive program, participants’ computers should meet the system requirements described here:

Development Your Own Course

Carolina Online Teacher Program

Build your own online course from scratch, or revise one of ours. Developing Your Online Course teaches you the design and development strategies you need to create your course online. This six-week online course follows Teaching Online Courses and prepares educators interested in implementing online courses into their K-12 or professional development offerings.
