mm rate (linage). the advertising sections of the AUTOMÄRKTE combination magazines are laid out in columns. The millimetre rate indicates the price for 1mm (in height) per column. Ad price = mm rate x number of columns x height of ad.
Display ads. display ads are only possible as commercial ads of at least 10 mm in height. They may be text-only, with or without a border, and may have graphics and photos integrated too. Although we can design of the advertisement on your behalf, we generally receive the ad from you ready composed in the appropriate data format.
Commercial ads. these are ads inserted by trade/commercial organisations. The commercial nature of the ad is clearly recognisable to the reader. Commercial text-only ads are indicated as such in our Auto Markets with an H.
Text-only ads (small ads). these are text ads without any design, i.e. without photos, logos etc. Exception: for an additional charge, a picture of your used car may be displayed with the text. Text-only ads are therefore the ideal way to advertise a used car and all other kinds of “bought and sold” items quickly and economically. Unlike display ads, text-only ads may be placed online.
Discounts. are granted on display ads, provided an applicable number of bookings are made within a single accounting period (12 months). We always ensure that you receive the maximum discount you are entitled to. How? Quite simple. At the end of the 12-month period we sum up all the ads you have booked. Discount entitlements not yet paid out are reimbursed in the form of credit for future ads. Please note, we are entitled to invoice retrospectively any discounts granted in advance for a series of ads which are then not all booked. We are always pleased to inform you how many ads still have to be placed to entitle you to a discount, or what you can do to reach a higher discount entitlement.
Combination rates. may be claimed for a booking in AUTOStraßenverkehr, sport auto or MOTORSPORT aktuell, if an advertiser books at least the same linage in auto motor und sport during a 12-month period. Change of design, differing advertisement formats and variable scheduling dates are permitted.
Type area/Bleed. The type area is the printed space occupied by the columns. The remaining space forms the four page margins and is nor-mally reserved for page numbers or page headings. Advertisements which require this unprinted area as extra advertising space may, however, be booked as bleed ads. Please note, bleeds may only be booked with at least 3 bleed edges.
4c/2c/3c. 4c stands for 4-colour, meaning that your ad is composed of all 3 base colours (cyan, magenta, yellow) plus black. White graphical elements may of course also be used. 2c/3c stand for 1 or 2 additional colours respectively, meaning that, beside black (and/or white), your ad may contain no more than two of the three base colours (cyan, magenta, yellow).
Non-commercial ads. may only be booked by private persons and may not have any kind of commercial character.

Payment due within 30 days of invoice date. A discount of 2 % will be allowed for prepayment of the full amount before the on sale date, provided that no previous in-voices are outstanding.
From 2014, the bank direct debits have to fulfill the re-quirements defined in the SEPA-regulation. If payment is not received by the above date interest in the amount of 5 % above the current standard interest rate of the German Bundesbank will be charged in addition to debt collection fees.
