Welcome to CFO Agenda 2015
Henrik Drusebjerg
Party time in the financial markets
Historic! That is the only way to describe what we have witnessed in the financial markets during the first quarter. This is the assessment of Henrik Drusebjerg, Chief Strategist at Carnegie Investment Bank. At CFO Agenda 2015, he will give an account of a financial world which, in his own words, has been turned completely upside-down as a result of:
• A European Central Bank that has launched a historically large monetary issue • An unprecedented pressure on the Danish krone, but the reverse of what
we have previously seen
• High returns, especially on equities and the dollar
• Record–low interest rates, with Denmark even seeing negative interest rates In his position as Chief Strategist in the area of Private Banking, Henrik Drusebjerg constantly has his finger on the pulse of the financial markets. At CFO Agenda 2015, he will present a summary of the most important trends he is seeing in these markets – what exactly is happening there, and how can companies best prepare for and take advantage of these positive develop-ments? Henrik Drusebjerg will also give us his views on what large-scale money printing, deflation and negative interest rates mean for growth and earnings opportunities in companies.
Biography
Henrik Drusebjerg is a popular guest speaker, and he is one of the most quoted economists in the Danish media. Graduating from Copenhagen Business School in 2004 with an HD in Finance, he then went on to become a Strategist and Senior Strategist in Nordea’s Strategic Investment Advice up to the autumn of 2014. This was followed by his appointment at Carnegie Investment Bank as Chief Strategist in the bank’s department of Private Banking.
Lene Skole
How to excel and succeed as CFO –
under-lining the role as a valuable partner in
ope-rational decisions, investment and strategy
execution
Lene Skole certainly has her fair share of experience in the role of CFO – and also the change from CFO to CEO. After many years as CFO for companies including AP Møller-Maersk and Coloplast, she jumped at the chance of taking over the top job as CEO for the Lundbeck Foundation. Her philosophy and experience is based on the belief that people and organisation are decisi-ve factors for the success of the CFO.
It is important that the CFO both understands and works in line with com-pany strategy. The CFO needs to ensure the necessary funding when new opportunities arise – and not least, the CFO needs to be razor sharp at identi-fying and eliminating factors that restrict the company’s potential for growth. At CFO Agenda 2015, Lene Skole will talk about the different roles of the CFO within the company. One of her important observations in this context is that the CFO needs to play an active part in the success of the CEO – and as a result underline their role as an essential asset to the company. The success of the CFO can be measured by the success of the CEO.
Biography
In August 2014, Lene Skole became CEO of the active industrial foundation, Lundbeck Foundation. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President and CFO at Coloplast, where she began work in 2005 after a long career at AP Møller-Mærsk. In the last five years of her Mærsk career, she was CFO at The Mærsk Company Ltd in England. Lene Skole has a wide-ranging financial education from Copenhagen Business School, London Business School and IMD International in Lausanne, Switzerland. Currently she is a board member at Tryg A/S and deputy chairman for the boards of ALK-Abelló A/S, H. Lund-beck A/S, DONG Energy A/S and Falck.
How to embrace innovation from a finance
point of view − CFOs should say “YES!”
Matt Locsin
“CFOs need to take a strategic role to contribute to innovation of the com-pany.” These are the words of Matt Locsin, Innovation Director at Doblin in London. At this year’s CFO Agenda Conference, he will share his views on how the finance function and, in particular, CFOs can contribute to innovati-on – not innovati-only of the functiinnovati-on itself – but of the entire organisatiinnovati-on. In short; how to cultivate and grow a common culture of innovation. The main idea is that the kind of innovation most companies and sectors need requires total transformation – not only transformation of technologies. However, in order for the total innovative transformation to happen, it is of paramount importance that CFOs begin with themselves. According to Matt Locsin, they ought to be more open-minded, erase the word “no” from the dictionary, evaluate their own expectations of their role as a CFO, and bring themsel-ves into the discussion at the same level as CEOs. The overall message is that companies creating new sources of growth are the ones that integrate multiple innovations. In his presentation, Matt Locsin will describe ten types of innovation by bringing up concrete examples of companies that have pinpointed the patterns for success through innovation.
Biography
Matt Locsin is a Director at Doblin, where he leads the firm’s European prac-tice within innovation, strategy, and innovation effectiveness. He leads client teams in conceiving, developing, and launching “what’s next” and helps organisations to instil their own innovation competencies.
Experience to date spans sectors such as auto manufacturing, consumer elec-tronics, consumer packaged goods, defence, energy, entertainment, financial services, healthcare, media, retail, and telecommunications.
Matt Locsin received a Masters of Design from the Institute of Design, IIT and a BFA from Syracuse University. He holds adjunct faculty positions at The Institute of Design and Northwestern University.
”How do you excel as a CFO? By focusing on data,
strategy, leadership and innovation – and innovation
should always be top of mind for the CFO. The aim
of CFO Agenda 2015 is to open the eyes of CFOs to
innovation - with focus on how they can contribute to
innovating the business model and strengthening their
position as a strategic asset.”

• Where to begin and how to start
