As one of the largest food drives in the state of Iowa, Star 102.5’s Combat Hunger has provided millions of meals for Iowans in need of food assistance. Join us as we continue to make a difference for Iowans in need!

Star 102.5 started Combat Hunger over 30 years ago with one mission: help the Food Bank of Iowa provide meals for Iowans experiencing hunger. Since then,

Combat Hunger has generated funds which helps Food Bank of Iowa purchase, deliver, and distribute more

food to our neighbors who need it most.

GATHER FOOD

WHAT DOES

FOOD BANK OF IOWA DO?

We gather food through individual donations, food drives, retail donations, USDA Commodities, wholesalers and more!

FOOD SAFETY

We store the food in our distribution centers. We follow strict food safety regulations to ensure food is safe to eat.

SORT FOOD

Volunteers sort the food that may need to be repackaged, labeled, counted and boxed.

Sometimes our food comes in big quantities!

Our drivers load food onto semi-trucks and deliver it to Partner Agencies such as pantries, meal sites, shelters, daycare, and more.

Our Partner Agencies throughout our 55-county service area distribute food in family-size quantities to Iowans facing food insecurity.

DELIVER FOOD DISTRIBUTE FEED IOWANS

Food insecure children, families and seniors receive food for free to stock their pantries and ensure they can live a healthy life.
