Letter from Dr. Charlton

Congratulations to Lynne Kesselman who was recognized by her alma mater Richard Stockton College of NJ with the Professional Achievement Award. Each school within the college annually selects an alumni to recognize for distinguished

caught the eye of the School of Education and its Dean, Dr. Claudine Keenan. Dr.

Keenan visited our campus this past week to see the work of our computer department in person (more on this visit from Dr. Graham below). Again, congratulations Lynne on this wonderful achievement.

Mrs. Elko presented College Information Night this past Wednesday to a large crowd in our auditorium. When she asked for a show of hands for what grade levels were represented in the audience, it was good to see freshmen and sophomore families in attendance. After a comprehensive presentation on the college

admissions process, Mrs. Elko stayed and answered questions for many families who had specific inquiries. Nice job Mrs. Elko!

Also last week, the HS administration conducted an open house for eighth grade E.H.T. families currently attending private schools. The purpose of the evening was to give these families an opportunity to familiarize themselves with our school and programs in a small setting as they embark on the process of choosing a high school. On November 10, our Alder and Fernwood parents will have their own open house to prepare for next year.

From Dr. Graham:

Johnson and Wales Guest Speaker in Culinary Classes

Juanna Rodriguez, employee of Johnson and Wales Culinary School came to speak to the culinary classes. She made yummy crepes with fruit filling dessert from scratch for the students to taste. She also shared information about the Johnson and Wales Culinary School and their programs.

Dr. Claudine Keenan visits Java and Computer Science Classes

Dr. Claudine Keenan, Dean of Education at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey came into observe students in the Java and Computer Science program. She learned a lot from the students as they worked on programming procedures in their java classes and best practices in web design in their web design classes. Dr.

Keenan also met with several Computer Science teachers to plan for a Computer Science Technology Association in the South Jersey area.

Pre-School Program Begins

Pre-School students had a great first day. On Wednesday October 15th 3 and 4 year old students began their pre-school experiences with teachers and students in the Education and Training courses. The high school students and teachers are excited about their arrival!

The Eagles will play top ranked Washington Township on Friday at Washington Township High School at 4 P.M.

The Eagles travelled to Franklin Township on Columbus Day to face Delsea Regional High School in an out of conference game. The game was a hard fought battle with the Crusaders and Mother Nature with less than ideal conditions for the game. Early in the second half Robert Dessoye buried a pass from Arian Redzeppi for the game winning goal. Matthew Moreno was clutch in the net to keep the shutout for the Eagles. Monday’s game brought the Eagles to 8- 4 for the season.

Wednesday night, the Boys Soccer team faced Mainland Regional High School. Both teams

honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donning pink socks and with Mainland wearing pink jerseys.

The Mustangs always prove to be a tough battle. The Eagles scored early in the game with captain Enrique Fiallos blasting a ripping shot from outside of the

Enrique Fiallos returned the favor to John Redding by assisting the game winning goal twenty minutes into the second half. Riquy threaded a pass between the defense to allow John Redding to get the breakaway.
