SPRING MEETINGS OF NATIONAL SOCIETIES: The Society for Pediatric Research will hold its

annual meeting in Atlantic City on May 3 and

4, 1968. The headquarters for this meeting will

be the Seaside Hotel. Tile plenary sessions will

The National Foundation and the Boston

Floating Hospital for Infants and Children

have announced the opening of a March of

Dimes-Birth Defect Information Center at the

hospital. Funded by the National Foundation,

the Center represents a pilot project to

de-termme tile needs of a central repository of

information on all facilities, institutions, special schools and classes involved in the diagnosis and treatment of emotionally, intellectually,

and physically handicapped children in the

state of Massachusetts. Specific information is

available by phone or letter to physicians,

educators, social agencies, nurses, and parents.

It is iloped tilat tins Center will serve as a

prototype for the development of similar

fa-cilities througilout the country and that tile

program will culminate in one clearing house

which will accumulate data on handicapped

children on a llatiOnal basis (telephone: Area

FELLOWSHIPS AND TRAINEESHIPS

The Department of Pediatrics at the

Uni-versity of Washington has postdoctoral

fellow-ship available in tile areas of child

develop-merit, adolescence, learning disabilities, and
