Choice of courses and drawing up of your learning agreement.

You will be studying at the ESTP as part of an exchange programme. Regular ESTP students follow all courses in a specific « class » (section) defined by a specialization and an academic year (ex: TP2, B3) and have an imposed study plan with compulsory courses. This is not your case. You are an “exchange” student and may set up an individual study plan and follow courses in a maximum of 3 different classes. You also have to follow precise rules when choosing your courses.

Which subjects can you choose ?

You may choose subjects from different specializations (B, TP, ME, T), from different academic years (1, 2, 3) and from different course units (UE). However, timetables from different classes risk overlapping. (Courses are scheduled every 6 weeks and time-tables change all the time during the semester - what works during one period might no longer work after 6 weeks).

It is therefore highly recommended that you choose a maximum number of subjects in the same class (TP2, B3, TP3RO, T3AP, etc.). Timetables of One 3rd year class one and 3rd year option don’t overlap.

Also, a limited number of subjects are not eligible for exchange students. They are crossed out on the attached lists. In order to make up your learning agreement you have to use these lists and choose only amongst the offered subjects.

 You may choose subjects in following specializations and classes: - TP (“Travaux publics”): TP1, TP2, TP3.

- B (“Bâtiment”): B1, B2, B3.

- GME (« Génie mécanique et électricité »): GME1, GME2, ME3. - T (« Topographie »): T1, T2, T3

- Third year Options: AP, ATUD (it is possible only to choose the two following combinations: module 2 and 4, or module 3 and 4), BVD (choose one or more entire modules), GCN, II, ITE, CEM, RO, S.

- If you choose the speciality GCN, you’ll have to attend all the courses from this speciality.

- Courses from B3, ME3, T3 and TP3 take place mostly from September to November, courses from 3rd year specialities mostly from December to February.  You can’t choose the following courses: optional subjects (ETP), the third years options CCP, DI, English classes.

 There are a limited number of places available on each course. You can sign up if there is room.

 French courses (Français langue étrangère) are compulsory, except if you can prove with a certificate that you have a sufficient level.

Three classes maximum when choosing your courses!

You may not choose courses in more than three different classes in a semester. This rule applies to each semester and was established to reduce the risk of course overlap given that courses in different classes (sections) are often scheduled at the same time What is meant by “class” (section)?

For first and second years, each year of specialization makes up a class (section) and are as follows : B1, GME1, T1, TP1, B2, GME2, T2, TP2.

For the third year, a class (section) is made up of core courses in the specialization (B3, ME3, T3, TP3), and of third year options (AP, ATUD, BVD, GCN, II, ITE, CEM, RO, S). Examples of classes (sections): B3S, B3II, B3RO, ME3CEM, T3AP, TP3II, TP3RO, TP3S, TP3GCN, TP3ATUD…).

ECTS credits

Normally ECTS credits are awarded per course unit. If you do not follow all courses of one unit, credits may be allocated to the single subjects. In this case, the subject “coefficient” corresponds to the subject credits.

Validation of the learning agreement by the pedagogical supervisors at your home university and at the ESTP.

Your learning agreement has to be accepted by your pedagogical supervisors at your home university as the chosen subjects at the ESTP must be compatible with the programme of your syllabus at the home university.

The ESTP direction of studies must also validate your learning agreement.

Mandatory deadlines

Deadline for establishing the learning agreement for the 1st semester : 15th June.

Deadline for establishing the learning agreement for the 2nd semester : 15th December. After these dates, it is impossible to change your learning agreement.
