What is Webmail?
Webmail is an online application that allows you to access your emails. You are able to send and receive email from anywhere in the world from your web browser rather than installing an application.
Please Note: This guide is created using the Advanced interface option on the login screen.
How do I login to Webmail?
To login to webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Go to the following link in your web browser: https://webmail.123-reg.co.uk.
Please Note: You can also access the webmail page via a link in the main control panel under the Email section.
2. Fill in the following details:
• Mailbox name (Full email address e.g. [email protected]
• Password
3. Select the following interface for this guide.
• Advanced interface 4. Click on the Login button.
You will now be logged into the webmail console. If this is your first time you will see the summary page.

Webmail layout explained
The following will explain the webmail interface layout:
Sections:
Top Toolbar
The top toolbar is used for accessing menus of the webmail interface.
Icon Toolbar
These are shortcuts of menus from the top toolbar.
Folders Pane
The folder pane is used to browse your folders and manage your email settings.
Contact Pane
This is where your contacts are stored for easy access.
Email Pane
Your email messages and email preferences are viewed here.

Compose / View Emails
How do I compose an email?
To compose an email in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Write Message icon and then select the New Message option.
If your Pop-up blocker is disabled in Internet Explorer you will see the following prompt.
a. Click on the OK button.
b. Click on the Pop-Up warning bar.
c. Click on the Always Allow Pop-Ups from this site.. option from the drop down menu.
d. Click on the YES button to confirm allowing Pop-Ups from 123-reg.co.uk
A new window will open with the new message panel.
Important: You may need to allow pop ups on your web browser to allow the new window to open.
2. Fill in the header information as follows and compose your message.
• The email address
• Other email address you want to CC in the email message

3. Click on the Send icon on the toolbar.
How do I view an email?
To view or open an email in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Select the folder in the folder pane.
2. Click on the email in the folder you want to view.
This will now open the mail in the message pane below.

How do I add a contact to my email?
To add a contact from the webmail address book to you email, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Add recipient’s icon in the toolbar on the email window.
2. Select a contact on the left side.
3. Click on the button on the field you would like to add the recipient to.

5. You will now see that the contacts email address has been added to your email.
How do I add an attachment to my email?
To add a file attachment to your email, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Attach icon.
2. Click on the Browse button and select your attachment.
3. Click on the Upload icon to upload the item to your email.
4. Your file will now be uploaded.
5. You can delete the attachment by clicking on it in the list or you can add the attachment to your email by clicking on the return icon.
Please Note: There is a maximum attachment file size of 3MB from webmail and 10MB from an email client.
How do I set an email message priority?
To set an email priority to your email message in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Priority icon and select the priority from the drop down list.

How do I spell Check my email message?
To spell check your email content, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Spell Check icon.
2. All incorrect spellings will be in red and as a link.
3. Once you click on the spelling mistake you can choose from the list of suggested words.
4. To finish the spell check click on the Spell Check icon to exit the spell checker.
How do I save the email message as a draft?
To save your email as a draft to continue with at a later date, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Save icon to save as a draft.
Your email message will now be saved in your drafts folder.
How do I enable a read receipt?
To enable a read receipt for an outgoing email in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Tools menu on the toolbar.
2. Select the Enable Read Receipt option from the drop down menu.

How do I edit the HTML of my email message?
To edit the HTML of your email message, please follow the instructions below:
1. In the compose email window, click on the Tools menu.
2. Select the Toggle HTML source menu from the drop down.
You will now be able to view and edit the HTML of your email message in the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor.
How do I add a contact as a Bcc recipient in webmail?
To add a contact as a Bcc recipient, please follow the instructions below:
1. In your new compose email message window, Click on the Message menu.
2. Select the Add Recipients from the drop down menu.
3. You can now type in the Bcc Recipient into the Bcc: field.

How do I create a new contact in the webmail address book?
To create a new contact in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the \/ arrow in the Contact panel.
2. Select the New Contact option from the drop down menu.

4. Click on the OK button to save the new contact.
Your new contact will now be saved in your webmail address book.
How do I edit an existing contact in the webmail address book?
To edit an existing contact in the address book, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on in Tools menu and then on the Address book option from the drop down menu.
2. Click on the existing Edit User icon.
3. Edit the contact details and click on the OK button.
You will now be able to edit the details stored for your contact.

How do I add a contact group to the webmail address book?
To add a contact group in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Tools menu and select the Address Book option from the drop down menu.
2. Click on the New Group icon.
3. Enter a name for you group.
4. Add email addresses to your new group.
5. Click on the Add icon.
How do I search the address book contacts?
To search your address book contacts in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Tools menu and select the Address Book option from the drop down menu.
2. Click on the Search Address Book icon.

How do I continue with my draft email?
To continue with your saved draft, follow the steps below:
1. Click on the Drafts folder in the folder pane.
2. Click on the tick box next to the relevant draft that you would like to continue with and click on the Open Draft icon.
You will now be able to continue where you last saved.
How do I add a folder?
To add a folder in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Folder Manager icon on the left side of the screen.

3. Type the folder name in the Mailbox Name field.
4. Click on the Add Folder icon.
Your new folder has been created.
How do I delete a folder?
To delete a folder on webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Folder Manager icon on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the Delete folder icon.
3. Click on the OK button to confirm in the prompt box that you want to delete the folder.
How do I purge all emails in a folder?
To delete all emails in a particular folder, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Folder Manager icon on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the Purge icon next to the folder you would like to delete contents for.
Important: Once you do purge a folder of its contents, this is not restorable.

How do I access the webmail calendar?
To access the webmail calendar, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Show Calendar icon.
How do I add an event to the webmail calendar?
To add an event to your webmail calendar, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Show Calendar icon.
2. Click and drag your mouse cursor on the time you want to create an event for.
3. Enter the details within the event box.
4. Click on the Edit button to add more specific details.
5. You can now add more specific details and adjust options like:
• Subject
• Location
• Start date
• End Date
• Category
• Availability
• Reminder
• Scheduling
• Repeat event
How do I delete an event from the webmail calendar?
To delete an event from the calendar, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Show Calendar icon.

Please Note: There is no confirm delete dialog and it is not reversible.
How do I get back to my emails from the calendar?
To get back to your emails from within the webmail calendar, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Back to Email icon.
Webmail Tasks
How do I create a new task?
To create a new task, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the File menu.
2. Select the New Task option from the drop down menu.
3. Click + button to add a new task.
4. Type in the task subject box.
5. Click on the Task body to add specific task information.
6. Fill in the task details and click on the Update Entry button.
Your task will now be saved with the details set.

How do I edit a task?
To edit a task in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Show Calendar icon.
2. Click on the body of the task to open the specifics menu.
3. Make your amendments to your task and click on the Update Entry button.
How do I delete a task?
To delete a task, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Show Calendar icon.
2. Click on the – sign next to the task subject on the right side.
Your task will now be deleted without confirmation and cannot be restored.
How do I move an email to a folder?
To move an email to a folder in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the relevant email message tick box.
2. Click on the drop down box and select the folder you want to move to.
3. Click on the Move button.
How do I print an email?
To print an email message, please follow the instructions below:
1. Select the relevant email message.

How do I flag an email message?
To flag a message in webmail, please follow the below instructions:
1. Click tick box next to the relevant email message.
2. Click on the Message menu.
3. Select the Flag message option from the drop down menu.

To un-flag a message in webmail, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click tick box next to the relevant email message.
2. Click on the Message menu.
How do I forward an email message?
To forward an email in webmail, please follow the following instructions below:
1. Click tick box next to the relevant email message.

4. Add the contact details of the person you would like to forward the email message to.
5. Fill in any message content that you would like to include in your message and click on the Send icon.
How do I add an email signature?
To add an email signature, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Email Settings icon under Utilities icon.
2. Fill In your email signature at the bottom and then click on the Save Settings button.
Please Note: You cannot add images to your signature in webmail and can only use plain text.

How do I search my webmail emails?
To search your emails, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Find icon.
2. Select the Search messages options from the drop down menu.
3. Fill in your search criteria and click on the New Search button.
You can now click on the email name to open the email.
How do I view the summary page?
To view an overall summary of your emails, calendar, tasks and login history, please follow the below instructions:
1. Click on the Start Page icon under the Utilities folder.
You will now see a summary in webmail.
How do I enable the summary page as the default page when logging in to webmail?
On your first time using webmail, you would have been shown this screen. If you would like to enable it as the main screen again, please follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the Start Page icon under the Utilities folder.
2. Scroll down and un-tick the option: When Webmail Starts, go directly to my Inbox
The next time you login you will be shown the Summary page.

Webmail preferences explained
You can change the following Webmail preferences by clicking on the Email Settings icon in the folder pane, some of the things you can edit are shown below:
The Account title shows your email account and type.
Displayed Name is the name that will appear on your outgoing emails.
Reply To is used to specify a Reply-To address if different from your login email address.
Sort Email By allows you to sort emails by a category of information e.g. subject.
Default Font Style allows you to choose the font used in webmail.
Service Language allows you to change Webmail’s language.
Leave messages on Server is not changeable. This is set to leave a copy of your emails on the server.
Inbox Refresh Rate will set the number of minutes for the Inbox to refresh. You will be alerted of new mail with a sound.
Number of messages to Display in your email pane.
Time Format that you would prefer to use within Webmail.

Select Time Zone that you would like to set for all messages in Webmail.
Specify default mail-encoding for when sending outgoing emails you can specify the default encoding for the message content.
Block images in email messages allows you to block images displayed in your email messages.
Address Autocomplete allows webmail to auto-complete when typing emails
Message popup will display messages in a pop out window if opening from within a folder.
Auto delete trash will delete trash when sent to the trash folder.
Delete Trash on Logout will delete your trash folder content on logout automatically.
HTML Email Editor will automatically let you compose messages in the HTML editor instead of Plain Text.
New Window Popup Automatically open email messages in a new window
Email Signature will be attached to all outgoing emails.
