EBCAP Health Centers Achieve Level 3 NCQA Recognition

East Bay Community Action Program is proud to announce both of its health centers have received the highest level of recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home. This recognition was awarded by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). The NCQA is a Recognition Program built on evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical standards, and its mission is to improve the quality of health care.

The two community health centers, East Bay Family Health Care-East Providence and East Bay Family Health Care-Newport, are staffed by experienced board-certified family medicine physicians and other professionals who care for patients of all ages. Read more

EBCAP to Sponsor Tiverton Resources Fair for Families

The third annual Family Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Pocasset School, 242 Main Road, Tiverton. The fair will offer

entertainment and provide community resource information.

Some of the organizations already confirming their participation include but are not limited to RI Parent Information Network, RIREACH Consumer Assistance, United Way 211, VNS of Newport County, Parenting Partners, Women's Resource Center, Bank Newport, URI SNAP Outreach, Newport County Mental Health Center, Child and Family Services of Newport, Tiverton Library, Capital Good Fund, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and East Bay Community Action Program. Blood pressure checks and a registered nurse will be available to answer questions! Booths will offer activities and nationally known Matias the Magician will be there! Tiverton Fire Truck exhibit! Free children's books! Refreshments from the culinary arts students at Tiverton High School! Come and join the fun! Read more

Boston Magician to Entertain at 11th Seaside Gala

Do you believe in magic? Master Magician Darren Yong will captivate and amaze guests at the 11th Annual Seaside Gala with an up close performance. Join us for the event on June 12, 2014 at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, and he just might make you a believer!

Yong has performed throughout New England at red carpet events, night clubs, restaurants, and corporate and college events. He is a regular on Friday nights at emBargo Restaurant on Cape Cod. East Bay Family Health Care Receives Highest Level of Recognition

East Bay Community Action Program is proud to announce both of its health centers have

received the highest level of Recognition as a

Sarah Fessler, MD, the Medical Director at East Bay Family Health Care, said, “As a

Services at the health centers include health insurance navigators, obstetrics (East Providence),

pediatrics, teen clinics, adult medicine, social services referrals and assistance from Health

Advocates. New patients and families are welcome.

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP), as a partner in the Family Care Community

Partnership (FCCP) with Child & Family Services of Newport, Newport County Community Mental

Health Center and the East Bay Center, through a grant from the RI Department of Children, Youth and

Families (DCYF) is sponsoring this fair.

Senior Restaurant Program

East Bay Community Action Program announces a new dining option is being offered under its

East Bay Café Program, formally known as the Ocean State Senior Dining Program, beginning

March 3, 2014. The Senior Restaurant Program will be launched at the IHOP Restaurant,

located at 159 West Main Road, Middletown, Rhode Island.

The EBCAP Senior Restaurant Program is open to individuals 60 years of age or older. Vouchers

for the program, which must be obtained prior to dining, are available at the Edward King

House Senior Enrichment Center located at 35 King Street in Newport, RI or at East Bay

Community Action Program, 100 Bullocks Point, East Providence, RI. A donation of $5.00 is

suggested. Vouchers are redeemable at the Middletown restaurant location between 7am –

10:30am and 4:30pm-8:00pm, 7 days a week. Diners can select from a limited menu of 5

nutritionally balanced entrees.

This program is funded in part by the United States Administration on Aging and state funds

through the RI Division of Elderly Affairs.
