Melissa is a native of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, a town about 40 miles south of Green Bay, which means she is required to be a Packers fan! However, she’s adopted Topeka as her home (and the Chiefs and Royals, too), moving here in May 1996 for a job with WIBW-TV. A graduate of Marquette University, Melissa has covered numerous subjects at WIBW. She currently anchors the Live at 5 broadcast and co-anchors 13 News at 6 and 10 with Ralph Hipp. Melissa is involved with numerous community organizations and events.
When she’s not working or attending a community event, you can find her running, working in the yard, searching for antiques or following the exploits of her nieces and nephews. Melissa and her husband, Doug, have several furry, four-legged children, including dogs Lucy and Buddy!
Melissa has previously hosted many exciting international and domestic Holiday Vacations tours. She invites you to join her
and other WIBW viewers on this New England Cruise.
