Overview: (100 words)
Gymnastics in itself can provide many of the fundamental skills required for a happy and successful life of sport and activity.
When an area benefits from:
- Schools where teachers have the confidence and expertise to introduce physical literacy through gymnastics.
- Extra-curricular school gymnastics clubs for children to enjoy and develop their growing abilities.
- A club where large numbers of young people, teenagers and adults can find the activity that is right for them for enjoyment and perhaps to excellence
The benefit can be felt by all the sports active in that area.
Planet Gymnastics working with local schools and Sport Cardiff’s sports development team have grown and innovated to provide a broad offer to the Grangetown area of Cardiff.
Aim:
Illustrate the benefit of fundamental skills and their delivery through partnerships of school and clubs. Consider how effective links from schools into community clubs can develop in the future to support Sport Wales aspiration of every child hooked on sport for life.
