Views
You can easily integrate process maps statically as home screens or as additional elements in M-Files views, using the Views entry in the Process Maps configuration.
Create a tab for the home screen that is displayed as Start tab when opening the M-Files client:
Open the Views node below the User 1.
Interface entry. There you can add a new
map view by clicking the Add HomeView entry.
Enter a path (ViewPath or ViewID) and use 2.
the ID of the map (ID or GUID) you want to display on the home screen. IDs can be found on the metadata card or in the properties of the respective view in the M-Files Client. Firstly select a card there and remember the ID. In the M-Files
configuration click the ViewPath or
ViewID entry and enter Root starting with
a capital letter for the main page.
Now click Add HomeTab to add a new tab 3.
in the M-Files Client.
The name of the tab can be entered and 4.
is displayed later in the M-Files Client. Select the Process Map object type 5.
including the corresponding object type description, ID or GUID.
Enter the ID or GUID of the Process Map 6.
object you want to display as a map in the home tab.
If you select Focus, the tab is focused 7.
immediately and displays the selected map when you are on the Home screen. You can also choose if the map is to be 8.
rendered in SVG format or completely with all commands.
Also, select if you want to activate lazy 9.
loading. Both options can offer
performance advantages. So, test these settings before you share your maps with your users.
After you made all changes, save your 10.
entries by clicking on Save.
You can save this configuration not just for the home view, but for every view you set up in M-Files. For example, think of a view in which objects of the type
“maintenance order” are displayed. You can add a room plan to this view so that requests for users can be processed more quickly.
This requires the name or ID of the view so that you can display your map there. Enter the name or ID of your view here
ViewPath or ViewID. Pay attention to the
exact spelling you used when creating the view. Add a tab (Click on Add HomeTab) again, enter the desired name and options and do not forget to save your changes. It is also possible to store several tabs for a view if e.g. you split your process map into several parts to make them faster selectable in the tab bar in your M-Files Client. The focus is always set to the first map that you have added as a tab here, regardless if you also select ´yes` to focus on the other tab.
Test the stored settings by starting an M-Files Client after you have logged in again. Of course, the normal authorization
rules of M-Files objects apply here, so
make sure that your users have the
necessary rights to have the process maps displayed at all.
WfTabs
With Workflow Tabs, you can display a process map depending on the status of an object selected in the M-Files client, for example, to offer additional information or overviews that are not required in another process status.
In this way you can also display a different map in each status to make your workflow even clearer during processing:
Open the entry WfTabs in M-Files Admin 1.
and click on Add WFTab.
Workflow tabs are shown based on 2.

m-files_admin:020_configuration_items:020_user_interface https://process-maps.software/doku.php?id=m-files_admin:020_configuration_items:020_user_interface
can find both information in the Workflows section of the M-Files Admin. As always, double-click on a workflow to see the individual status and remember the ID. Enter this information in the Process Maps configuration.
You can also display the map in multiple 3.
workflow states by using the Add number entry and entering another StateID.
Now click Add HomeTab to add a new tab 4.
in M-Files Client.
The name of the tab can be entered and 5.
is displayed later in M-Files Client. Select the Process Map object type 6.
including the corresponding object type description, ID or GUID.
Enter the ID or GUID of the Process Map 7.
object you want to display as a map in the home tab.
If you select Focus, the tab is focused 8.
immediately and displays the selected map when you are on the Home screen. You can also choose if the map is to be 9.
rendered in SVG format or completely with all commands.
Also, select if you want to activate lazy 10.
loading. Both options can offer
performance advantages. So, test these settings before you share your maps with your users.
After you have made all changes, save 11.
your entries by clicking on
Save.
Save your changes and test them in the M-Files Client after you have logged in again. If you search for a suitable object and change its status, your process map should now be displayed accordingly to these new settings.
RootWebContent
You can also display a web or intranet page as a tab on the home screen. All you need is the URL:
Select the RootWebContent node. 1.
The name of the tab can be entered and 2.
directly to the desired webpage. If you select Focus, the tab is focused 4.
right away and displays the selected map when you are on the Home screen.
