Spelman’s reunion serves as a time to remember, reconnect and rejoice about your Spelman experience. To celebrate this milestone we ask alumnae to support the College and the legacy which created the bond you share with your classmates.
Your gift, regardless of the amount, makes an impact on the students that
we serve and their choice to change the world. In fact, contributions from alum-nae bridge the gap between the tuition and the actual costs for a student to attend. Make your gift today in honor of your upcoming reunion and help your class win a Reunion Philanthropy Award.
The following award categories will be announced during Blue Note Banquet. They include:
• Four Year Cumulative Class Gift
recognizes the class with the highest gifts documented between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2015.
• Every Woman…Every Year! Class Participation goes to the class with the highest participation between July 1, 2015 and the reunion giving deadline. • Reunion 2016 Class Gift is award-ed to the class that gives the highest amount between July 1, 2015 and the Reunion giving deadline.
• Most Significant Reunion Pledge Total acknowledges the class with the highest amount of documented pledg-es. The first installment of your pledge must be received by the reunion giving deadline.
In order for gifts to count for Blue Note Banquet announcements, all gifts must be received to the College by the reunion giving deadline of Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2 pm ET.
Visit www.everywomaneveryyear.org for more details or contact the Office of Annual Giving at (866)512-1690.
Planned gifts are documented gifts to Spelman using planned giving vehicles such as gifts through your will, gift annuities, retirement assets, insur-ance policies, etc. Once a planned gift is documented, the donor will become a member of the Guardian Society.
•In order for your planned gift to count towards your Reunion 2016 Class Gift Award, alumnae must be 70 ½ or older and the planned gift must have been made on or after July 1, 2015.

See the list of scheduled events in the Reunion 2016 Newsletter or visit www. spelman.edu/alumnae/reunion.
When will I hear about Reunion Weekend?
Email messages are sent all year long. More details are listed at www.spelman. edu/alumnae/reunion. The Reunion brochure will be mailed in the beginning of the new year. If your mailing or email address has changed, please update your alumnae profile online at www.spelman. edu/alumnae and click “Update your Alumnae Contact Information.” You may also update your information by fax at 404-270-5050, or mail the information to:
Office of Alumnae Affairs 350 Spelman Lane, SW, Box 304 Atlanta, GA 30314
How can I register for Reunion events?
You may register online at www.spelman. edu/alumnae/reunion/registration. Additionally, the printed registration materials will be mailed the beginning of the new year, and can be returned by fax
to 404-270-5050, or mailed to the Office of Alumnae Affairs (address above).
What does my registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers your Reunion badge, souvenir program, signature tote bag, class picture, signature events, Reunion gifts and transportation. The Reunion fee underwrites the individual cost of Reunion and only entitles you to the items and privileges covered under the auspices of the registration fee.
When do I get my registration materials?
Onsite registration begins on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Please refer to the online Reunion schedule and the printed mate-rials for registration hours and locations.
How can I help?
You can help by assisting your Class Agents, SpelAgents, and the College in finding “lost” alumnae and former students (those who started with your class and completed at least one semes-ter with 12 regissemes-tered credit hours). Also, make the decision today to participate in your Reunion and encourage others.
Can I get a Commencement ticket?
Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016, however, only a limited num-ber of tickets are available for registered reunioning Golden Girls and Diamond Daughters. All other registered reunioning alumnae should request their names be added to the ticket waitlist when register-ing. Requests will be confirmed based on availability.
When should I plan to arrive on campus?
Registration will be held on May 12-15, 2016. The traditional Reunion activities take place on May 13-14, 2016. In addition, individual class activities will take place May 12-15, 2016.
Check the Class Pages at www.spelman. edu/alumnae/reunion/class-pages for more information.
What is the parking process on campus for Reunion Weekend?
Free parking will be available in the deck. Parking for the disabled will be available, as well as drop-off and pick-up points.
What should I wear to Reunion?
Comfortable, business casual clothing is recommended for the events during the day. The weather in Atlanta can be hot in May, and being outside is required to get from event to event. We particularly encourage you to wear comfortable shoes to accommodate the volume of walking on grass, concrete and cob-blestone terrain on campus. The March Through the Alumnae Arch (Friday) is held outside. The traditional attire is a white dress or skirt suit, neutral-toned hosiery and closed-toe black shoes. The Saturday evening event, the Blue Note Banquet, requires after-five or semi-formal attire.
Do I need to wear a white dress and when?
Yes. The white dress ensemble is a treasured tradition of Spelman. During Reunion, the ensemble is worn for the March Through the Alumnae Arch (Friday). The ensemble consists of a white dress or skirt suit, neutral-toned hose and black close-toed shoes.
Where can I purchase Spelman paraphernalia?
Paraphernalia can be purchased at the Spelman College Bookstore. In addition, the Reunion Blue-tique will be open during Reunion registration on the Upper Concourse of Manley Center.
Can I bring my spouse/partner/adult children/adult grandchildren/family to Reunion? Do I need to register them? Is there a registration fee for them?
Yes, we welcome guests during Reunion. Adult guests do need to register. The guest registration fee is $125 per person. We also have a youth registration pack-age for children pack-ages 12-17 of registered alumnae for $50 per child. The package includes a full day of activities, guest breakfast and blue box lunch.
To which events are children invited?
Children can join you at all of the non-ticketed events, but must be super-vised. However, it is important to note that many of the events have programs associated with them, so children may become uncomfortable and disinterested during these events. We highly recom-mend registering your children ages 12-17 for the youth registration package.
Will there be activities for my guests?
Yes. Please see page 3 for guest and youth registration information.
Do you have wheelchairs?
If you require a wheelchair, please make sure you arrange to have someone escort you through Reunion activities. Wheel-chairs can be rented.
For more information on this service, please visit www.spelman.edu/alumnae/ reunion/accommodations.
How will I get to the Reunion events that are off campus?
Shuttle transportation will be provided from the host hotel to campus and other Reunion event facilities.
Why should I attend the Sisterhood Breakfast?
The Sisterhood Breakfast (Friday) is a College tradition. It is the first opportunity for you to connect with your classmates, enjoy a spectacular breakfast, and celebrate with all reunion-ing alumnae. Due to limited space and in order to accommodate all reunioning alumnae, we are unable to accommodate additional guests.
Why should I attend the Blue Note Banquet?
The Blue Note Banquet is a grand affair that includes a three-course dinner with wine highlighted by the Golden Girl Class of 1966 Parade, Donor Recognition, Reunion Class Gift Presentations and live entertainment. This is an experience you do not want to miss!
