The heart of PSMJ’s PM Digital Toolbox is a one-year license to use PlanTrax®, PSMJ’s popular project management system. Your Digital Toolbox features an array of templates, spreadsheets, and other highly useful tools for responsibilities such as:

• Preparing project management plans • One-week and multi-week forecasting • Task management

• Quality control

• Change and risk management

Why PSMJ’S Project Management Bootcamp?

Would you believe that 68 percent of architecture and engineering clients that switch to a different consultant do so because they begin to feel like they’re being treated “indifferently” and “taken for granted?” According to PSMJ’s industry-leading survey data, this is a fact—one that stands up remarkably well to the litmus test of common sense, right? Our surveys also report that the number one trait clients expect from their consultant’s project manager is follow through. They want PMs who do what they say they are going to do. That means, if a Project Manager tells a client they can handle an issue, it should be as a good as done for that client. Make no mistake—in this business environment, PMs who promise the world, but fail to deliver will be exposed, and your firm will suffer.

Interestingly enough, being “good technically” was ranked tenth on the client’s list of desirable PM traits. Indeed, clients expect you and your firm to be good technically. Being good technically is not the differentiator—most clients are not technically savvy enough to distinguish the difference between a good design and a great one. They do know, however, when the design doesn’t work, when you are late with a deliverable, when you do not return a call, or when they have to ask you for something multiple times.

PSMJ’s Project Management Bootcamps will give your PMs the knowledge and tools they need to perform better, more efficiently, and with greater attention to client service. We’ll make your good PMs great!

PM Bootcamp Objectives

You gain real-world understanding of the critical techniques and strategies used by the country’s most successful project managers:

• Improve your personal project management skills • Strengthen your technical skills— negotiation, budgeting, scheduling, risk management • Refine your “people skills”— marketing, communication, leadership

Who should attend?

PSMJ’s Project Management Bootcamps is a transformative experience appropriate for project managers at every stage of their career, as well as:

• Principal • Associate • Seasoned PM • Assistant PM • Department head

• Studio manager or branch office manager

Every bootcamp is designed to compress a wealth of

knowledge and insight gained from decades of real-world PM experience into two information-packed days. These are the must-know strategies and must-have techniques of today’s most successful project managers—highly practical advice you’ll find plenty of opportunities to apply immediately upon your return to the office. That’s why more than 30,000 A/E project managers have already attended this industry-renowned program—many more than once! Shouldn’t you be the next?

Successful Projects Start With Successful Relationships Between Project Manager and Client

Now more than ever, achieving success as an architecture or engineering firm depends on the quality of a firm’s relationships with its clients, and no one is more responsible for those relationships than your Project Managers. In an industry where the difference in the quality of a deliverable a client receives from one firm to the next has become increasingly miniscule, and building restrictions and environmental requirements have become increasingly complicated, the Project Manager’s ability to work closely with a client to overcome problems and manage risk has become the new touchpoint of value. However, Project Managers capable of providing this premium level of service aren’t born that way; they become that way…after attending PSMJ’s Project Management Bootcamps.
