different types of education: in general college education is

more practical and prepares you for a specific career, whereas

university degrees are more academically focused or research

based.

Kaplan levels explained

The chart below shows the progress you can make with a Kaplan language course. On arrival at your school you will be given

a proficiency test to enable our staff to place you in the correct class for your level of language ability. Regular progress tests

during the course will then allow your teachers to monitor your level of improvement.

You can use and recognize common words, greetings, and simple instructions, but you have limited grammatical knowledge.

You can write and speak in familiar situations and have a fair knowledge of grammar, but your vocabulary is limited.

You can talk about everyday matters, but with a limited range of style and expression. You read and write fluently about familiar topics.

Not sure if your English is good enough? Kaplan International will help you determine what your English level

is before you leave your home country! We will tell you how many course weeks you need to meet your chosen

university or college's minimum level requirement, so don't wait!

Part of University Placement Service is a free Pre-Arrival Test to determine your level of English. Based on this assessment, Kaplan

can estimate the time you need to improve your English to the required level for admission into university or college. Many of our

partners accept the successful completion of Kaplan levels for admission into their programs!

How to Apply:

Students can apply before or after their course start date;

minimum 8 weeks enrollment is required.

1. Send the completed UPS inquiry form along with a copy

of the transcript and submit it to your Kaplan International

Representative

2. Receive a personalized list of programs at partner

institutions and help selecting one based on your English

level, grades, future objectives and preferred study

location

3. Choose your university or college and let your Kaplan

Representative know

4. Kaplan International will apply to one of the partner

institutes on your behalf

5. Receive your Conditional Letter of Acceptance (CLA) - (It

may take from 4 to 12 weeks to receive your CLA)

What can you expect after you arrive in the USA?

As soon as you start your course at Kaplan International in the USA, a University Placement Service Advisor will schedule an

informational session with you. During this meeting the University Placement Service Advisor will help you prepare all documents

needed to finalize the transfer to university or college.
