STATEMENT OF NEED

Oncology is a continuously evolving area of medicine and new developments provide tools for the physicians, scientists and health care professionals to help diagnose and treat cancer. Continuing education is essential to study and evaluate new findings, to inform practitioners of new clinical applications and to improve patient care.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After participating in the activity, the participant should be able to:

Apply advances and scientific and translational research in the care of their patients (knowledge, competence, performance).

List and assimilate the difficulties in interpreting data presented at scientific meetings (knowledge, competence). Enhance physicians’ ability to analyze speakers’ conclusions at medical meetings (knowledge, competence). Implement new practices or review existing ones to improve the quality of care delivered based on knowledge gained at this symposium (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes).
