37CHAPTER 1
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Punjab emergency service (rescue1122) is the first successfully tested model of trained Emergency service in Pakistan. The government of Punjab has established this emergency service through legislation to provide a system for emergency Preparedness, Response and Prevention.
road traffic accidents, building collapse, explosions, fires and disasters which cause dangers to the lives and properties of citizens of Pakistan.
1.2 PREAMBLE
Whereas it is expedient to establish an emergency service to maintain a state of preparedness to deal with emergencies, to provide timely response, rescue and emergency medical treatment to the persons affected by emergencies and recommending measures to be taken by related organizations to avoid emergencies.
1.3 HISTORY
Punjab emergency Service 1122 evolved from Punjab Emergency And Ambulance Service (Rescue1122) Pilot Project on 14th Oct 2004. Rescue 1122 was launched in 2005 as a small project of ambulance service (Punjab Emergency and Ambulance Service) under Provincial Health Department, Punjab. This service has been a great success by rescuing over 36,000 victims of emergencies since Oct 2004. Then the service accepted the challenge of establishing a modern fire service and disaster emergency response teams in Pakistan.
1.4 MISSION
A safer Punjab by reducing the mortality due to accidents, emergencies and disasters.
In order to ensure sustainable human resource development in the long neglected and essential field of emergency and disaster management, Emergency Service Academy has been established in the vacant government premises and the construction of a purpose built campus is underway. The Academy is also in process of getting international accreditation to ensure quality of training. This emergency service academy with training manikins' lab, rescue simulation building, incident training equipments and training for disaster management is the first training institute of its kind in Pakistan and can potentially train human resource in the field of emergency not only for the country but also for the region.
1.6 SERVICES
Rescue 1122 can provide following major services province wide: Ambulance Service
Fire Emergency Service Disaster Emergency Service Water Rescue Service
1.7 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Establishment of a system for Emergency preparedness, Response and prevention.
Development of Safer Communities through proactive approach towards Emergency Management and Training.
To have positive socio-economic impact on the society by reducing deaths and disabilities due to injuries amongst young able bread winners.
CHAPTER 2:
“EXISTING
SYSTEM”
2.1
EXISTING SYSTEM
Punjab Emergency Service (rescue 1122) is the tested model of trained Emergency Service in Pakistan. In this organization it is crucial for the staff to work in manual environment. It should be equipped with all modern facilities. As Rescue 1122 has many related organizations and branches so these need to be linked with each other through proper system. So it has to be make sure that its every branch is provided with everything a successful organization needs. A brief of some facilities is as follows:
Modern Machinery
Internet Facility
Networking Infrastructure
Transport Facility
Database Research System
2.2 DRAWBACKS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM
The problems with the current system in Rescue 1122 are:
2.2.1 TIME FACTOR
In such a system when information is of non routine nature is needed, it take weeks to assemble data from various fields and write new program to produced the required reports. It becomes time consuming to retrieve any previous record.
2.2.2 DATA INCONSISTANCY
If one department has data that is required by any other department, it is
awkward to obtain it. A second copy of the file could be made but this would be obviously soon lead to problems of inconsistency
2.2.3
DATA REDUNDANCY
The same data is duplicated in many different files known as data redundancy
2.2.4 DANGER OF LOSING DATA
As there is no proper computerized system so much data is lost due to manual work.
2.2.5 EXPENSE ON THE FIRM'S BUDGET
Each department has to have a head which is an expense on the firm's budget because of manual work.
“PROPOSED
SYSTEM”
3.1 PROPOSED SYSTEM
The system proposed to disorganization should be to maintain their data in order to save it from being lost. In order to provide efficient solution for the problem being faced, A new system is proposed after making comprehensive study of existing system. The proposed system should update data on regular basis and collect data for research and analysis purposes as it is a computerized record keeping system known with a lot of advantages.
3.2 ADVANTAGES OF THE PROPOSED
SYSTEM
The proposed system is very useful. Some of its advantages are:
3.2.1EFFICIENCY
The proposed system provided to this organization will be an efficient one.
3.2.2MILTI-USER ENVIORNMENT
3.2.3 USEFUL FOR ENTRY, MODIFICATION
AND DETECTION
The sheared data will be resistant on the client computer. This would be useful for the entry, modification and detection.
3.2.4 DATA CENTRALIZATION
All the data belonging to the entire organization is centralized in a common pool of data, accessible by all applications. This solve the problem of redundancy and inconsistency
3.3 PARALLEL APPROACH
The present system will be implemented using parallel approach. In this approach, the existing system continuous to function in parallel with the new system so that
discarded. This system will be useful for the organization as it is easy to maintain and helpful for many purposes.

ACCESS
Access is a Microsoft product and is commonly used by developers to develop small dynamics applications. Access allows developers to create applications within Access itself for enabling easy data manipulation by the users
DATABASE
A Database is used to hold relational information. It is computerized system for storing information in a structured easily accessible form.
RDBMS
RDBMS stands for relational database management system. In a relational database, the data is stored in rows and columns
TABLE
FORM
A form is a window that displays a collection of controls such as labels, check boxes, text boxes and lists for Viewing, entering and editing the information in a database field.
QUERIES
Queries are grouped together information to your database and organize it either for use in reports or for viewing on screen in datasheet view or in a form.
REPORTS
Reports are used for printing information from a database. A report can combine data from more than one table
RELATIONSHIP
A relationship is a link or association between entities of the tables.
ENTITY-RELATIONSHIP DIAGRAM
An entity-relationship diagram is a diagrammatic way of representing the relationship between the entities of tables in a database.
