ESSENCE COLLECTION

“ESSENCE", for me means the return to the basics, white porcelain & a shape

that’s pure. The story, based on the expression of a curve & how light plays off the surfaces

when the shadows & light plays off the shapes. The shadows, the reflections & form all

acting as “one” creating a small scale sculpture of function & pleasure.

The collection is made up of groupings named:

Signature, Coup & Banquet plus a niche group Gourmet.

Each group has a target market & usage,

to an ever increasing trend of bowls & trays.

The bowls were created to give focus to the food, whilst the

square & rectangle pieces are versatile when used as a “tray”

HOLLOW WARE

The “ Hollow Ware” pieces are the most tactile,

a cup & saucer, tea pot, bowls are at once simple but it’s also these pieces

that we touch & feel in the process of drinking or eating.

They also represent the vertical sculptural element

of the collection in shape, size & form.

RENE OZORIO

Rene Ozorio, is a designer working in tableware, interiors and food concepts.

His work is being used by star chefs, restaurants, hotels and cruise lines. Collaborating with chefs,

restauranteurs and artisans, his work references fashion, architectural forms,

artefacts as well as ethnic arts and crafts.

He sees tableware as a combination of sculptures and forms that subconsciously

and subliminaly add visual texture to our dining experience

and as a reflection of the evolution of "how we eat, today”

in the context of the "rituals of dining” both of the past and in the future.

Tactile, sensual and visual his shapes speak of cultures,

both Asian and Western.
