HYWIND

The world’s first full-scale floating wind turbine was installed by Statoil in 2009. Hywind is perfectly adapted to deep waters close to large power

consumption regions worldwide.

Next step is development of entire pilot parks.

Enova SF granted € 7.6 million in support for the Hywind pilot.

Angle Wind develops a new generation drivetrain technology for large wind turbines. The drivetrain consists of an innovative gearbox and a

Blaaster Wind Technologies is developing a direct-drive wind turbine concept that first will be realized in an onshore 3MW unit for all wind conditions.

 Aims to facilitate private sector R&D activities within the field of green energy.

 Aims to facilitate green energy collaboration between Norwegian private sector and research environments.

 Up to 50% financing

 Aims to promote business-targeted research education and long-term skills development in Norwegian research institutes, focusing on fields with significant development potential for private enterprise in Norway.  80% financing – 20% cash contribution from business partners.

Tax Break

The Treasure Chest scheme grants tax deductions to

businesses on costs related to R&D work in approved

projects. Companies that are not presently in a tax position

are also eligible to apply.

 Large businesses qualify for 18% tax deduction. Small and medium-size businesses (SMB) qualify for 20%.

 The project’s innovative content, research content and overall plan are emphasized in the review of the application.

 Online application and reporting.

the country.

 Commercial terms and conditions.  Security is required.

Innovation loans: For companies with new ideas

Low risk loans: Long-term loans on favourable terms

 Innovation loans are offered to businesses with an innovative project that is believed to be commercial for which full financing is difficult to secure.

 An innovation loan normally delivers 50% of the total capital needs of a project.  The repayment period is adjusted depending on the purpose of the loan. Interest is

set at a favourable rate, especially in light of the risk normally inherent in such projects.

Research and Development Contracts (RDC):

 Grants for innovative projects which involve a committed collaboration between Client and Contractor.

 Collaboration assumes that both parties contribute at least 30% of the resources for the development work.

 Important criteria at the time of application:

 High innovation content and uniqueness  National and international market potential  Project feasibility

 The expected impact of the grant in terms of increased potential  The financial viability of your business

 For projects that promote a better environment, with a focus on building and testing of pilot projects.

 ETP supports technology which is close to the commercialization stage.

 Projects must be built, developed and tested under conditions that are as close to natural as possible.

 Companies of all sizes in all parts of the country are eligible to apply.  We support:

 Costs of design, engineering and development of pilot installation  Investment costs related to building the installation

 Costs of commissioning and operating trials.

promotes new technologies and solutions in the energy market.

 The technical solution should be in place by the time Enova enters the process. Enova’s contribution focuses on demonstration and qualification of costs and other important features of the solution.

 The programme is mainly aimed at energy consumers, not energy suppliers.  The investment must lead to defined energy results – new energy production or

reduced energy consumption.

 Public concession contracts and/or required public approvals must be in place prior to applying.

Enova was formed to promote environmentally friendly restructuring of energy consumption and generation in Norway.

Transnova funding of green transport

Transnova offers funding for greener transport with the following priorities

 New technology:

 Development of transport technology based on renewable energy

 Quality control of transport technology based on renewable energy sources – must be competitive in terms of quality and availability in order to ensure significant reach

 Increased use of environmentally friendly transport solutions

 Increased use of public, bicycle and pedestrian transport  Increased freight transportation via keel and rail

 Reducing transport demand

 Better utilization of transport capacity  Solutions replacing transport needs

 Transnova offers support to demonstration projects
