TODAY'S GAME: The Giants conclude their nine-game homestand with the final game of a three-game set with the New York Mets...it's the third of six meetings between the two clubs over the next two weeks as the Giants travel to New York next Tuesday-Thursday...

SF enters today having won 17 of its last 22 games overall and is 21-10 since the All-Star break...the Giants are 7-1 on this nine-game homestand.

BEST IN THE BIGS: The Giants enter today's game with the best overall winning percentage in the Majors at 78-42 (.650)...this is the Giants' best record through 120 games of a season since they went 80-40 (.667) in 1993 and is the club's second-best record overall in the SF-era through 120 games...the '93 club holds the best record through 121 games (81-40, .669).

TOP OF THE ROCK: SF has had the outright best record in the National League now for 94 days, the most days they've had the best record outright in the NL in the SF-era (1958-present) and the most since 1954, when they had the best record for 104 days ...the Giants 101 days leading the NL West in 2021 is the third-most days a team has led their division outright this year behind the Mets, who earlier led

the NL East for 103 days, and the White Sox (103 days) who currently lead the AL Central (Stats, LLC).

ACCIO BROOM?: A win today would give the Giants their first sweep of the Mets in a three-game series here at Oracle Park since June 6-8, 2014...the Giants have swept eight series in 2021 and only been swept twice.

SUNNYSIDE UP: SF has won seven straight day games (and also nine of their last 10) entering play today...overall, the Giants are 29-14 (.674) during the daytime in 2021, the third-best winning percentage in the Majors behind Tampa Bay (32-14, .696) and Milwaukee (34-16, .680)...the Giants 3.17 ERA in day games is fourth-best in MLB.

HANG TEN: IF Evan Longoria became the ninth different Giant this year to hit at least 10 home runs...it's the fifth time in franchise history that a Giants team has had nine players all reach double-digit home runs (also 2000, 1987, 1958 and 1952)...no Giants squad has ever had 10 players with double-digit homers...OF Austin Slater is on the cusp with nine.

HEADS UP SEVEN UP: RHP Logan Webb twirled a career-best 7.1 innings for the Giants in last night's victory...it's the first time a Giants starter has completed 7.0 innings since LHP Alex Wood worked 7.0 innings on July 7 vs. St. Louis...overall, the Giants had 19 instances where starters completed at least 7.0 innings in the first half of the season.

HOME SLICE: SF's 42-18 (.700) home record is tops in MLB entering play today, ahead of the Rockies (40-21, 656)...the Giants are averaging 4.97 runs per game at Oracle this season, which would be the fourth-highest runs per game for a season since this park opened in 2000.

THREE'S COMPANY: The Giants will enjoy an off day tomorrow before embarking on their only three-city road trip of the season starting Friday night in Oakland...after a weekend series across the Bay Bridge, the Giants will make their fourth and final trek into the Eastern Time Zone to enjoy an off day Monday before three-game sets with the Mets (Tuesday-Thursday) and Braves (Friday-Sunday).

1947-2021

Senior Advisor to the President of Baseball Operations Dick Tidrow passed away unexpectedly on July 10 in Lee’s Summit, MO. He was 74 years old.

A former American League Rookie Pitcher of the Year and 13-year Major League veteran, Dick Tidrow spent 28 seasons in the Giants front office. He came to the organization prior to the 1994 campaign, serv- ing as the club’s Major League scout for the American League. Prior to joining the Giants organization, Tidrow served as a special assignment scout with the New York Yankees from 1985 through 1993.
