Job Title: Digital Marketing Executive

Key relationships Reports to: Marketing and Business Development Manager Responsible for: N/A

Works with: Marketing team, PR, Design, external partners and wider C&S team

Location: Merchants House, Bristol

Job Purpose: The Marketing Executive is responsible for co-ordinating and executing the marketing plans to meet the business and marketing targets for Sawday’s. They will be required to support all aspects of the marketing function in building the Sawday’s brand through energetic, creative, insightful, cost-effective smart thinking and activity. This will include ownership of the delivery of content plan through email marketing, social media, PR, website management as well as running online and occasionally offline marketing campaigns.

Work with Membership team to ensure that the interests of both guests and member’s are served through all activity and that ‘at risk’ member groups are being supported.

Key Accountabilities and Tasks:

Campaigns – support the Marketing and Business Development Manager and PR team to develop, manage, deliver and evaluate targeted marketing activity, to meet the business objectives  Social media – to contribute ideas to and to take ownership of the

delivery of the content strategy across all social channels. Monitor, update and optimise activity - including advertising, content creation and managing day to day ‘conversations’ across

appropriate channels to create a vibrant and engaged community  Content management - working with Marketing and Business

Development Manager to source and generate site and digital content, ensure it is accurate and optimised to support marketing initiatives and SEO (includes day to day ‘conversations’ across appropriate social channels)

Email marketing - source and develop content including managing creation of design assets and develop copy. Manage broadcast and monitor and report on performance and provide suggestions for optimisation and improved conversion rates. Manage email database adding any new partner data

Innovation – constantly seeking to learn and think of new approaches to problems or opportunities. Staying on top of the latest digital and marketing trends, enabling us to optimise our business model and deliver for our owners and guests. Always learning from others inside and outside of the business, through networking and research and then taking responsibility for sharing and developing any new opportunities or ideas

Copywriting – provide support for copy across a variety of marketing activity, including emails, advertising, website, social media and design materials

PPC – curate required Google adwords copy and support

Marketing Manager in the management of Google PPC campaigns  Design management – develop creative brief and manage design

projects from brief through to delivery

Partnership collaborations – support the Marketing and Business Development Manager with long-term strategic partnerships and take ownership for establishing and delivering BAU partnerships as part of monthly content plan. Building strong relationships with any external partners and spotting shared opportunities for future collaboration

Reporting - prepare campaign/activity reports, work with PR Manager and Marketing and Business Development Manager to prepare monthly Marketing & PR report and Key Stats Report. Carry out bespoke analysis and make recommendations to improve conversion rates

Brand guardianship - ensure all communications follow Sawday’s brand and style guidelines, and are consistent with marketing positioning and key messaging

Communication - work with Sawday’s team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are briefed on marketing activity on regular basis  Knowledge sharing – through strong relationships with the Canopy

& Stars marketing and PR team, ensure that we maximise any Sawday’s wide marketing opportunities and that the two brands support each other where appropriate

Administration - provide admin support to Marketing team Gameplans and BAU Projects - lead and/or support the

development of Gameplans and deliver key marketing Strategic and BAU Projects ensuring activity plans, objectives and roles and responsibilities are clear, and well executed

Projects - support cross-functional teams across the business in delivery of Strategic Projects as required

platforms and technologies into the business

 Continuous improvement – help to create a culture of continuous improvement, and make positive changes in the business. Help to implement innovative and cost-effective solutions to drive

measurable process and system optimisations

Salary details The starting salary for this position is dependent upon the candidate’s level of experience. £18k to £22k - TBC

Qualifications Essential

Degree educated Desirable:

 Marketing Degree

 Professional Qualification in Marketing e.g. CIM Experience/knowledge Essential:

 2+ years consumer marketing experience in ecommerce on travel/lifestyle brands either in-house or within agency  Proven track record of planning and executing social media

campaigns – of having grown engaged communities across all key social channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest

 Strong digital marketing experience, understands digital

production processes well and has used a range of tools to support digital campaigns, including SEO and PPC

 Proven track record of assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas

 Tracking and analysis of campaign data and excellent working knowledge GA

 Has designed and delivered email newsletters and worked with MailChimp

 Creation of content and copywriting digital and social media  Has designed and built surveys using Survey Monkey

 Ability to extract insight from performance data and web metrics  Good working knowledge of PR

 Good practical knowledge of CMS systems  Budget management and ROI

Desirable:

 3+ years consumer marketing experience in ecommerce on travel/lifestyle brands either in-house or within agency

 Has worked on end-to-end campaigns and has worked closely with design teams, on time and to budget

 Passion for all things digital is evident in strong personal presence in social media

 Good portfolio of past campaigns/content and creative projects in digital and social channels

 Some experience of managing print work and knowledge of print production processes

 Ability to carry out simple image manipulation in Photoshop  Travel or outdoor brand experience

 CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)

 Budgeting and supporting business case development

Skills Essential:

 Ability to build strong relationships across internal and external partners, understanding their needs and ensuring we achieve shared objectives

 Extremely strong experience in managing and running email, social and other digital marketing campaigns

 Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and provide consumer insights to support business objectives  Attention to detail

 Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple teams and markets

 Excellent written English and can write content for social media

 Project management skills – can write briefs, build plans and deliver projects independently on time and on budget

Desirable:

 Market research and analysis to identify market and industry trends

Acting as an ambassador for the brand you will have strong project management and analytical skills. You will need to be highly organised, conscientious and a team player. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential to this role along with creative and commercial thinking.

T’s and C’s Office hours, 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5hrs per week).

Evening and weekend work is sometimes necessary to meet deadlines and targets

6.6 weeks paid holiday during each complete year of service which is made up of 5 weeks plus 8 Statutory Bank and Public holidays (pro rata for part time staff)
