• List three indications and contraindications for performing transcatheter and transapicalaortic valve replacement (AVR) on specific patient populations.
• Explain what is removed during a Whipple procedure, describe three different types of liver resections and their differences, and understand what hemodynamic monitoring is used during the intraoperative management of a patient undergoing a liver resection. • Discuss how a patient’s environment can affect them before and after a procedure
and how integrated technology can be beneficial.
• Identify four risk factors for skin breakdown for a critically ill patient. We will discuss use of vasopressors, emaciation, co-morbidities, and disease process that contributes to skin breakdown for the critically ill patient.
• Describe the effect of cardiac resynchronization therapy on the improvement of cardiac function in moderate to severe heart failure.
• Create awareness and “out of the box” critical thinking for the atypical Neurological patient in the ICU.
