Axiom College participated in a VET Quality Framework monitoring audit conducted on 13 and 14 February 2013. The audit focused on the qualifications and units of competency selected by ASQA from organisation’s scope of registration as listed below.
The audit identified evidence of compliance with most requirements of the VET Quality Framework, however some areas of non-compliance were also identified. The following is a summary of the audit findings (including each area of non-compliance).

Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) The TAS provided contained misleading information in client group/s statement regarding the requirements for BAS registration.
Course structure exceeds packaging rules by 1 elective unit. There is no information provided in the TAS to suggest flexibility in the selection of elective units to support the additional units listed.

The misleading statement has been removed. The course structure meets the packaging rules, so no change has been deemed necessary to the units. Clarification of the choice of electives has been added to the course structure.
The TAS has been updated to include the instructions that enable flexibility in the selection of elective units.

All units available for selection are listed in the Packaging Rules section of the TAS, and the instructions are not explicit as to their selection. It is implied that the ‘list below’ is the full range of
electives to be used.

In addition, some assessment tools/tasks did not have sufficient criteria defining acceptable performance, in particular the observation checklist.

Assessment tasks not pitched at the correct AQF level; no clear information about assessment requirements provided to students; criteria defining acceptable performance for some of the tasks were incomplete
