Future Engineers Camps
Discover and explore engineering in a week-long day camp for rising 3rd through 10th graders. Students experience engineering through age appropriate hands-on, investigations, and building activities. The workshops will show students what engineering is about focusing on using the engineering design process to solve problems and develop solutions. Older students

Charlotte Area Health Education Center

Through a Model State-Supported Grant, the Charlotte AHEC develops initiatives to educate all pre-college
youth, with an emphasis on underrepresented minorities,
and economically/educationally disadvantaged
populations about health careers. We also develop academic preparedness with these youth through math and science critical thinking skill enrichment, student
computer/internet skills, clinical observations, and

The NC-MSEN Pre-College Program (PCP) is designed
to broaden the pool of students who graduate from high
school with sufficient preparation to purse mathematics
and science programs of study at the university level and to move into careers in science, mathematics, technology, engineering, and teaching. To achieve these goals, the program offers rigorous science- and mathematics-based academic enrichment classes and activities to traditionally underserved students in grades 6-12. These activities are integrated into the core curriculum and include career awareness programs, leadership training, academic advising and tutoring, academic competitions, and hands-on laboratory experiences in mathematics, science, and technology.

The CAALS 3-D is a week-long day program that
serves male, rising 11th and 12th graders from
under-represented groups (African-American, Hispanic/
