Free Trees for Los Angeles City
Residents!
Did you know that planting trees in urban environments can capture pollution and
storm water, reduce energy costs by providing shade, absorb noise, and increase
property values?
1Are you interested in the benefits of planting trees at your
residence? If you are a resident of the City of Los Angeles, North East Trees can
help you receive free trees through the Million Trees Los Angeles initiative. The
Million Trees Los Angeles initiative is a partnership between the City of Los
Angeles and community organizations like North East Trees.
There are three ways to get your trees:
1)
Complete the Permission to Plant Street Trees Form for free street trees and
mail to the address below. These trees will be planted by North East Trees.
2)
Pick up a tree at North East Trees distribution events (to be announced).
3)
Sign up by completing and mailing the MTLA residential Tree Order Form
and have up to 7 trees delivered to your home within four weeks (to be planted
by the homeowner).
Pick your trees from the attached list of available trees
You must be a resident of the City of Los Angeles
The 7 trees must only be planted on residential property (not for use as
street trees)

Shade trees save
Trees come in a 5 gallon container and are 3ft to 8 ft tall. Height varies depending on tree species. You can choose up to 7 shade trees. The trees you receive can only be planted on your property, not on the sidewalk or parkway. That area is City property and requires a permit from the City of LA. Million Trees LA only delivers shade trees – we do not deliver fruit trees to homes or offer palm trees of any kind.
