The goal of the project is to raise test scores in math and science. Because Oklahoma will be using national standards beginning in the SY 14-15 the project will work to level the playing field for students as they move from state to state. The program will consist of remediation of military students in math with a certified teacher during the school day using a small group, hands-on approach. The creation of a STEM Camp during the afterschool program will allow students to activate, create, engage and enrich (A.C.E.E.) Students will create portfolios or original work as they apply what they learn to real world applications. Teachers will receive high quality professional development and ongoing coaching throughout the school year.

The second component of this application details a comprehensive K-12 STEM program designed by the STEM Education Alliance at the College of William and Mary to increase math performance and preparedness for students in STEM related careers through teacher training, the design of specialized curriculum, and a highly engaging summer STEM camp for teachers and students. Extensive resources and systemic improvements are included to build a sustainable program at each targeted school.
