2 Aims of teaching

The aim of the course is to broaden language skills in a foreign language, which refer to the grammar and lexical forms, effective communication and openness to the challenges of today's job market. Student can precisely describe a person and city, fluently talks about daily habits, distinguishes political parties in the GB. Student can actively initiate and maintain a discussion and present effective turn taking.

Microeconomics – introduction to demand and supply, market prices, individual incomes. Price and income elasticity of demand. Market equilibrium under different market situations (perfect competition, monopolistic competition, monopoly). Business operation: current ( sales revenues, cost categories, cash flows and profits, financial documents – balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and investment – introduction to discounting and its application in different financial transactions. Law of diminishing returns and economies of scale. Macroeconomics – GDP,GNP and calculation principles (main aggregates –individual consumption, government (public) consumption, investments, net exports, savings, budget deficit). Interrelationships between aggregates and role of the government in national economy. Selected statistical information on Polish economy compared with figures for other countries used as benchmark. Economic efficiency. Economic growth and development (theories, discussion of HDI, problems of developing countries). Monetary system. International trade and the world economy (current problems – impact of 2008 crisis on Polish economy), FDI, financialization of the world economy.

7 Aims of teaching

The main aim of this course is to present the most important stages of development of public administration in Europe, as well as – comparatively – Polish territories, beginning from the creation of state to the end of the Second World War in 1945. Students have the opportunity to get to know fundamental organizational forms, as well as the notion of administration in historical approach. Learning outcomes of the course unit

5 Aims of teaching

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the historical constitutionalism in Poland, the principles of government, the constitutional status of the individual, understanding of the mechanisms of the electoral systems, electoral law and the referendum, approximation of knowledge about Parliament and its composition, structure, function and organization, the political position of President of the Republic, the Council of Ministers and the government administration, the functioning of local government, public finance, constitutional bodies, the judiciary and the organization of the judiciary in the Republic of Poland, the Constitutional Court, the State Court, the Ombudsman.
